Hypothetical: Eavesdropping WITHOUT a Warrant

It was amazing to me how many questions AG Gonzalez could NOT answer because they were "hypothetical ".

I have some questions for those who think it is OK to wiretap WITHOUT a warrant.

HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING....knowing how much Karl Rove likes to "create" stories of his own choosing ....

IF a very, very BAD/EVIL PERSON (I won't use the "T" word;-))...living outside the United States, decides to call a Senator, or Representative from YOUR state....

....would that allow Karl's "Creation" (i.e., very, very, BAD/EVIL PERSON) to justify the administration's wiretapping of that Senator or Representative ...WITHOUT A WARRANT?

...AND would that also mean that the Bush administration could wiretap ANY CONSTITUENTS of that SENATOR or REPRESENTATIVE who quite innocently just want to e-mail, fax or call their Senator or Representative?

Wouldn't the worse-case scenario mean that the administration (keeping all "created" BAD/EVIL PERSON'S names secret of course) would say that they are justified to wiretap members of CONGRESS and their CONSTITUENTS because the American people support warrantless wiretapping?

Present that situation in EVERY STATE and we have just given the Bush administration the authority to SPY on EVERY AMERICAN!

You call Dominoes for a pizza. NSA follows the lead, taps it, no warrant.
You call a relative in another city. NSA follows the lead, taps it, no warrant.
Friend calls Pizza Hut for pizza. NSA follows the lead, taps it, no warrant.
10,000 people call your Dominoes and his Pizza Hut for pizza. NSA follows the lead, taps it, no warrant.
Those 10,000 people all make 10 calls. NSA follows the lead, taps it, no warrant.
And so on, and so on, NSA follows the lead, taps it, no warrant.

Result: Every American citizen tapped, no warrant.
