Calling it politics is an insult
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 12:04 PM by Defenestrate
I do not see how bringing up the issues of war, Katrina, and poverty could be considered disrespectful to Coretta King. It would have been a rank insult to what all her days were about if these issues had NOT been mentioned at a service to honor her life. It is an insult to the American public that issues that directly impact the life, death, and rights of human beings everywhere are now considered to be no more than mere politics.

4. That's how I felt about all that, as well.
I respect Will but I didn't much like his post on this issue.

Oh well.

5. Economic, civil and human rights are what Mrs. King worked for during life
It would dishonor her to NOT speak of those topics at her funeral.

6. I think we need to remember what she said
before her passing.

She was pretty clear about her feelings towards the war and the bushes.
