Where's Reid's War Room? Did Military Industrial Media Complex neuter it?
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 09:29 AM by blm
I haven't seen Reid's War Room at work in recent months while hot issues are at play.

Who is running the War Room? Is avoiding battles a war room tactic?

Who are the War Room spokepeople and why are they not front and center articulating the Dem positions on a daily basis?

Did media shut them out already?

1. I hear ya! Been wondering the same thing myself.
If I hear one more comment that Bush has kept us SAFE because we haven't had another terrorist attack "on our soil" I want to hear our Dems shoot back that we never had a terrorist attack "on our soil" in the history of this country so what was Bush doing wrong that we had the first one on his watch?

Then this a.m. i hear the Media carrying on about the Democrats politicizing Coretta King's funeral...how disgusting the Clintons were and how awful and ungracious Carter was.

Every day one of the aministration hacks is out there claiming Bush has total authority to do whatever he wants because Congress gave it to him with Iraq Resolution. But, yesterday on PBS Joe Biden said that "Democrats can't get covered for anything they say or do because they aren't the Party in Power and that's just the way it is and always has been." (loose quote)
Biden could have slammed the MSM for not reporting he could have said more that would have explained for the audience what the Dems are supposedly trying to get out there that can't be heard..but no...he just says "it's the way it is."

I've given up on Reid. He doesn't have any War Room he would be fine with just saying "the Republicans are just too powerful..and there's nothing we can do...we just hope the public votes in November for Dems to come back again.." Reid should resign...he's ineffectual...I don't care how many DU'ers think he has some boxing strategy...it's been too long he's had power and what the hell has he done with it. :grr:

2. I've been wondering that myself
I even tried to call the "war room" to give them some advice.
I called through Reid's office but got put on eternal hold.
Honestly, it seems to me as though republicans are in charge of
the Dem's media operations. Nothing, silence. What the hell are
they putting in the water in DC?

5. it's really hard to fathom why the Democrats are so ineffective . . .
in opposing BushCo . . . that a major political party has gotten so bad at politics is rather mind-numbing . . .

7. here's his release on the budget from yesterday
http://reid.senate.gov/record.cfm?id=251271

He got some coverage on the 6th for his blast at the Bush budget and the Medicare cuts.

"In a statement released before the budget was made public, Reid, D-Nev., attacked the president for cutting Medicare and other programs. He said that the elderly were already familiar with "the price of corruption" from wrestling with the president's Medicare prescription plan.

"Now the President's priority is to protect those special interest profits while jeopardizing access to care for those same seniors," Reid said."

8. But not much said in the mainstream newsmedia - no spokepeople hammering
the points home for our side.

9. nope
there's a 'there he goes again' sort of reporting they do with his statements.

It's the issues themselves that get obscured by the personalities they choose to highlight.

11. The Media is looking for "Bad Guys & Gals" to speak out for Dems...
Dems who can play the game like DeLay and the rest of the thugs who "talk big" and wield their power with a "Big Stick" like bullies beating up on the weak and helpless.

We Democrats don't have any Bully Boys or Heathers so when they see Reid or Pelosi the MSM put their hands over their mouths and snicker.

To the Media it's all a game and power play. They like Big Mouths, Cruel Mouths and Idiots who swagger around like they own everything.

There are still folks out there who could handle themselves better than Reid and Pelosi do...but they either aren't allowed to come forward because there's something about the way Reid and Pelosi were chosen...or there something else we out here don't know.

But, it sure isn't helping us when our Party Spokespersons and Leaders can't figure out a way to defend themselves or their principles.
