Finally got a freeper on another board to STFU over wiretaps

but I had to shame him into it, logic just didn't work - he was determined that All Hail Ceasar Shrub was perfectly justified in wiretaps, talking point, talking point.

Finally got frustrated and just posted from emotion, not logic

I know you want to support the President along the standard line of all things Lib = bad, all things Con = good - but are you really gonna convince us that you'd be just as excited if Hillary could open up that database of emails and find out that someone overseas thinks you have erection problems or need to add a few inches?

He instantly dropped offline and haven't seen or heard from him since.

Logic is useless when trying to explain things to SOME people...but grabbing them by the emotions works like a charm.
How do you think that so many of the freepers and right-wing jesus-jumpers came by their current mindsets?
They were either scared or manipulated into believing this stuff, because when you use logic and sense to look at it, it all falls apart...

I don't like that kind of rhetoric myself. Find it shameful and manipulative...and one of my personal commandments is Thou Shalt Not Manipulate.
It has gotten beyond the point where we can fight fair, however. If we want to win this war of rhetoric, then chivalry is going to continue to get us stomped.
Not honestly sure if this is quite so reprehensible as all that though...if you want to communicate with somebody you do well to speak their language...and it is apparent which 'language' is the lingua franca here. :shrug:

And collecting a data base on their preferred weapons, ammunition, military tactics, and who is possessing guns?

After all, the future anti-gun president could use Bush as a precedent, and unleash the NSA on all who oppose gun control. Maybe they do not realize how much Bush could really be fucking them when they prop up support for Bush's spying on Americans precedent. They are making their position very clear, and they will have to accept the same position in the future.

logic doesn't work. I've dealt with freepers who couldn't not vote for Bush* because they didn't "trust" Kerry and freepers who hate the idea of social assistance because it'll waste their tax money going to "those" people but think Ken Lay is a hero because he figured out how to "work the system." Haven't met the freeper that wasn't willfully ignorant, intellectually dishonest, or self-defeatingly selfish--or a combination of those.
