I think it would have been better if they had just shown the background that they had up in the beginning. It doesn't make it any less true though. I thought that the actual memo was leaked from Downing Street.

into a still of the Oval Office. Certain areas are masked off to allow him to "walk behind" things. They even placed an unseen chair in position of the seen one to allow him to sit down.

I really, really dislike this kind of thing. Credibility goes down in proportion to the number of these tricks they use.

Revealed: Bush and Blair discussed using American Spyplane in UN colours to lure Saddam into war.

Channel 4 News tonight reveals extraordinary details of George Bush and Tony Blair's pre-war meeting in January 2003 at which they discussed plans to begin military action on March 10th 2003, irrespective of whether the United Nations had passed a new resolution authorising the use of force.

Channel 4 News has seen minutes from that meeting, which took place in the White House on 31 January 2003. The two leaders discussed the possibility of securing further UN support, but President Bush made it clear that he had already decided to go to war. The details are contained in a new version of the book 'Lawless World' written by a leading British human rights lawyer, Philippe Sands QC.

18. BBC Newsnight CUT their version of this report from their web replay

this morning, with no explanation given. While downloading the program last night, minutes before the report was going to play we lost our SBC DSL service. This was the second time in a week we lost service for over four hours. (The first time was the night before the Alito cloture vote, while I was faxing and emailing senators.)

Yet another CRC ("censorship-resulting coincidence"). These strange "coincidences" are becoming more and more frequent.

When I later heard Ray Taliaferro of KGO radio kick off his program with this story, I knew that the BBC report we were prevented from downloading must have been a real blockbuster.
