Three generations of activists are making reservations tonight to march 1/27
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 12:17 AM by sfexpat2000
In our family, my mother is getting plane tickets. My job was to book a hotel room. My son is looking into cars and on the ground transportation.

This is why I love my family and this is why I love this country.

Who else will be there? Who else is marching? Will we meet up?

Let's get those Bush Bastards!

:)

1. There's a thread in the DC forum
about exactly that.

And there's talk we may get to recreate that photo on the National Mall.

We marched in Sept. last year, and expect an even larger crowd.

8. I wouldn't self identify as a peace activist. Just your generic social justice type.
But there are DUers who have worked long and hard as peace activists, like proud2BLib for example.

I'd be happy to talk to you anytime but I think there are DUers who are closer to your topic than I am. :)

12. Alright Beth! My sister and I are taking a bus for the day. I missed
everyone from DU in 9/05 due to the brakes on my car going out on the way. Made it for the march, but had to leave early thanks to the car.

I want to meet other DUer's this time! Hope it works out better this time.

stand it!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Talking and reading here at DU has been a true sanity saver and I am so grateful for everyone's wisdom, knowledge and caring hearts.

Hope you are doing better now. I had a long-time relationship end suddenly a couple years ago, with me being accused of being the problem, and found out exactly how strong I am. We are always so much stronger than we believe at times. Turns out his morphine/opiate addiction and hidden mental illness were the real problem, I knew it, he didn't want to know. I can empathize completely.

Wish there was more time though, only have the day. :(

15. We will make the most of it!
:toast:

I'm very excited because it's the first time I've gone to a big march with my son -- since he's been a grown up, anyway. Puts some straight in my spine to know he cares enough to make that long haul when his job is so demanding and his weekends are so precious.

:)

18. That does make it even more special, having a grown-up
Edited on Sun Jan-21-07 12:53 PM by vickiss
kid that cares! My daughter didn't even bother going to vote in Nov. :(

But at least my baby sister (33, I'm 48) is paying attention and cares! :)

Let this march be the beginning of the end of the insanity wrought on the world by the neocons!

Have a great time with your son, Beth. I'll be looking for ya'!
