How do we escape this "parallel universe" ?
Perhaps we should state the opposite of the truth? George Bush is one of our greatest presidents. He is an honest and Christian fellow. His economy is the best in history - better than Clinton's. He is protecting us from the evil terrorists. He is a courageous leader, unlike those wimpy liberals. He is a straight-talker - he does not lie. He is the type of person you would like to have a beer with. It is admirable the way he withstands all the hate from those wacky leftists. He is a great man...

Now, will I be able to escape?

2. Escape is not possible, untill you reach the theoretical limit of 32,767

posts. At that time, all will be revealed. Malaclypse the elder.

On edit: your already there, why are you bothering us? Go eat an Appel.

3. If it makes you feel any better...
The Republicans spent the entire nineties saying the same thing about Clinton. Politics is very cyclical. The Dems only need a few million votes from the center to be in power again, and you build your party from the ground up. The party that appeals to the broadest groups of competing interests with a sound message wins.

Come on. Gore and Kerry....they just weren't Bush. It takes more than that.

These recent defeats on the liberal side are the result of a quarter of a century of Republican focus on how to get the government back. When they started, they were coming out of Watergate with zero power.

It's time for a new message. That's how Bill Clinton did it.

8. "Gore and Kerry....they just weren't Bush."
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

That's what it was. The right wing talking point that our candidates had nothing to offer except ABB.

Couldn't have been, oh, I don't know, fucking Diebold, say.

We just need to be more like them, and you know why? Because there's no difference between the two! (Oh, God, my brain just exploded.)

6. Let's see kentuck, I think you forgot a couple --
- he has a wonderful record as a veteran of the Armed Forces;
- he is a scholarly statesman who grasps the meaning of a world view;
- he has compassion (that oughta be a biggy to get you out of here, since he's always claming that one himself).

That's it - just say it over and over -- George Bush is compassionate. Then click your heels, grab Toto ...

7. it's the George Costanze reversal theory . . .
since everything in George's life sucked when he went with his instincts, he decided to act counter to his instincts to see if things improved . . . as I recall they did for awhile -- but hey, George is George . . .
