4. It's a little town in Maryland named for a person by that name.
Sorry, I don't know the history. However, I do know that there are several "Olney" towns and counties in the U.S.

5. I was curious because my school is on Olney Avenue in Philadelphia
I go to LaSalle University, and we have an Olney Hall here, where most of my classes meet. I bet the school's archivist would know if there's any significant history behind the name, but I'm too lazy to go find out. I have homework to do and war protests to go to.
