cheney: "It's been pretty well known that Iran is fishing in troubled waters"
Here are more pearls of wisdom from the evil one today on his news program: Fox News Sunday. Is there anyone left who believes this lying sack of shit? anyone?

<snip>

"It's been pretty well known that Iran is fishing in troubled waters, if you will, inside Iraq, and the president has responded to that," he said.

"The threat that Iran represents is growing, it's multidimensional and it is in fact of concern to everybody in the region," Cheney said.

"If the United States doesn't have the stomach to finish the task in Iraq, we put at risk what we've done in all of those other locations," he said on "Fox News Sunday."

"I have yet to hear a coherent policy out of the Democratic side with respect to an alternative to what the president's proposed in terms of going forward," Cheney said.

"You cannot simply stick your finger up in the wind and say gee public opinion's against, we better quit," Cheney said. If the president did that, it would just "validate the al Qaeda view of the world," he said.

Cheney said criticism from members of their own party had not made him or the president feel embattled. "I've seen embattled administrations, this isn't one of them."

3. in same article he also said
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney said on Sunday the United States must show it has the "stomach" to win in Iraq or it will confirm al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's view that Americans can be pressured to leave.

Bush plan has also met resistance among his own Republican Party. "To say that we're going to feed more American young men and women into that grinder -- put them in the middle of a tribal, sectarian civil war -- is not going to fix the problem," Sen. Chuck Hagel (news, bio, voting record), a Nebraska Republican, said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Cheney said criticism from members of their own party had not made him or the president feel embattled. "I've seen embattled administrations, this isn't one of them."

*********** can we say cheney is in state of denial?

5. It is not like we live in a democratic republic.
""You cannot simply stick your finger up in the wind and say gee public opinion's against, we better quit," Cheney said. If the president did that, it would just "validate the al Qaeda view of the world," he said."

We voted last November to GET THE FUCK OUT OF IRAQ. That was not a 'finger in the wind', that was the sovereign voice of the people expressed at the ballot box.

Mr. Cheney, with all due respect, go fuck yourself.

9. Yesterday Gen. Pace was asking if the Iranians weren't involved,
how come we keep finding their "stuff" in Iraq? I'm sure you'll find some stuff, and then your problem will remain that most people won't believe you because of all the lies told for war in Iraq. Same neocon nutjobs running the same game. All they've done is replace the "q"s with "r"s. I do not accept, hell I even find it unacceptable, that we have no choice but to wage war on yet another country. By the time Afghanistan falls apart on us and they want to invade Pakistan, we will know we are completely screwed. Meanwhile, the world makes plans for a post-unilateral power world. Thanks GOPers.

13. there are way too many reasons why we are NOT "finding their stuff"
Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 01:00 PM by leftchick
except perhaps in the Kurdish region but they have a diplomatic relationship with each other and the USA has NO SAY in that relationship.

The Iranians would not be giving or selling their stuff to, Sunni insurgents, Mehdi Militia or however few al-qaeda in Iraq fighters there nmay be. The only folks down south they have a relationship with are our shiite friends al-Maliki and co. Not to mention there are literally hundreds of tons of high explosives and weapons already in Iraq and available thanks to the idiot rumsfeld.

Now has what Pace said made any sense at all in that context? They are simply making things up to provoke a war with Iran. Period.

16. And the NYTs article pointed out that lots of Iraqis fled to Iran
when Saddam was still our guy. Now some of them have come back. Ethnically, culturally, that border doesn't mean much. It's much stranger to be finding Americans there than Iranians. And, if I'm not mistaken, we've got some "stuff" too.

11. "I've seen embattled administrations, this isn't one of them."
Someone should ask him to list the embattled administrations he's seen. If the current one doesn't qualify as embattled then I don't know what the hell does.

22. They're not embattled because they intend to do whatever they want.
If a law is passed, they'll veto or break it, whichever is easier. If issued a subpoena, they'll ignore it. If funding is cut off, they'll use other money. If impeached and convicted, they'll declare martial law - if they still have enough uniformed bots left to enforce it.

21. I read that repigs still have "morals" on their side
Like Chumley's gay daughter who's pregnant in the anti-gay state of VA, living illegally with her partner and soon to have an illegal child that should, by law, be taken away at birth.

Those GOPig "morals" of lying, torture, criminal activity, treason and breaking every law they ever feel like breaking sure seems like "fishing in troubled waters" to me.

BTW, child-beating polls higher than Chumley does, more people support hitting children than support Chumley.
