I think Harry Ried has sent the chimp his first warning shot...
Ried made a statement yesterday that he "knows of at least 12 GOP Senators" who do not support "the surge". This is a warning shot, which of course will not be heeded, but expect a "surge" in rhetoric over the next couple of weeks. The Democrats are not going to sit by and let him start World War III, and I think there are probably enough Republicans who are scared enough to throw him under the bus.

1. Sad, repugs only scared for the own political skins, not the country, not the world.
Wish there were some statesmen these days.

4. I've been thinking about that drug bill. Why wouldn''t Shrub
sign the billto keep from being chastized for not doing so, and then just tell his HHS secretary not to do it? He could do that behind the scenes and no one would ever know!

5. And petulant George would retaliate...
... by vetoing every decent piece of Dem-sponsored legislation that crosses his desk. This is a meglomaniacal, vindictive and petty little man.
