What happens after the 100 hours??

Will the Democrats focus on the criminal in the White House? Once they have Pelosi's promise of a 100-hour agenda out of the way, what do they do? Do they continue passing legislation and forcing the hand of the Republicans? Or do they mostly turn to investigations? What should they do?

1. I don't see these as mutually exclusive.

As Lakoff put it, the legislation of the 1st 100 hours is the "low-hanging fruit" that all Dems could agree on. I assume they'll move a little further up the tree & negotiate legislation the ALMOST all (+ some Republicans) can agree on, meanwhile figuring our how to thwart the surge and pushing along on the investigations. Most of the investigative work will be done by staffers anyway, and they cn continue regardless of what's happening on the floor.

2. I think the theory is we are going to be so popular

that we will win huge in 08 and won't have to do any of that risky stuff like exposing the administration through impeachment and we'll be popular with both progressives and rightwingers.

as this was happening..

Bush bombs the hell out of Somalia, probably illegally? Then he captures Iranian citizens from their Embassy in northern Iraq and holds them hostage. And he gives a speech with his intent to send 20,000 more troops into Baghdad...and he declares on 60 Minutes that he has no intention to listen to anyone about his policy on Iraq.
