Has anyone else seen these stupid new "Join the US Border Patrol" spots?
Edited on Fri Feb-03-06 01:52 AM by Up2Late
They are so ridiculous, "...The U.S. Border Patrol...Protecting America..."

Now I see why they say there is such a problems with "illegals," one radio call, and they all swarm in, leaving the rest of the boarder wide open.

Yet still, if you're 35 or older, they won't even let you apply.

1. Hilarious
When I first saw it I thought it was an ad for "Reno 911." Totally Village People. Not to de-emphasize the utter ridiculousness of the Border Patrol program, but who is running advertising in our government? I mean, Karl puts out the spin and wraps the media around his finger, but ad execution is so bad that it often crosses the parody line.

4. "Totally Village People"
Sums it right up. I honestly thought that it was some kind of parody. Unfortunately, it appears they are serious. With speeding boats, four-wheelers jumping the hills, and "the latest in technology" working for them, I just want to rush right out and join them.

6. Me too, I've seen them a bunch of times now, and they still look...

...like a Reno 911 sequel, or an Arizona/New Mexico version of Miami Vice.

2. I haven't seen the spots but
after saying "NO!" to the army recruiting dude, he suggested many other things such as this.

3. I saw it the first time tonight...
It was during the 10pm CST airing of the Daily Show. I thought it was some kind of fucked up comedy sketch. Yes, it was that campy for those of you who haven't had the "pleasure." Propaganda all the way.

5. I haven't seen them,
but is there any way those who join the border patrol might end up somewhere else? Say, in Iraq?

Or is it just a recruitment ad for personnel for the camps KB&R are building for the 'wave of immigrants that'll deluge the US'?

8. Try this page, I think the video on the top of the list is the one...
...but I'm not sure, because when I tried to watch it, it locked up my FireFox browser. Knowing our Corp loving Government, the site might only be MS Internet Explorer compatible.

11. Oh but they couldn't do that!?! The Border patrol is...
..."America's Front Line!"

Funny, I thought that was the National Guard's job.
