I can smell Justice coming
Yep. Thiss year we're going to get some of our own back. The American people have finally awakened from our collective nightmare and are now realizing the truth of the matter. We've been saddled with a madman for a President. Our drawing parallels between him and King George III have not been nearly as incongruent as they might have appeared at first.

I woke up sometime in late December realizing this was going to be MY year. As far as I'm concerned, that means more than just gaining the higher profile I need to be a successful author, but also that I--we-- will finally see justice done.

I've been right so far about my own career. I'm currently in 3rd place in the Preditors and Editors reader's poll. I'd like to be first, but since I came in 18th last year, even 3rd place is a great improvement.

My wife is also on the poll as a zine editor.

All of this may seem a little optimistic, but I guess I'm just an optimistic kind of fellow. It keeps me sane. I'm not sure how the pessimists don't jump in front of a train, considering how bad the current situation actually is. I'm not sure we can afford pessimism.

This year is going to be a triumph for us all. We're going to leave this year with a strong sense of vindication and most of America on our side.

Mark my words--things are going to change.
