Tipper Gore, whose husband (his name escapes me) made "An Inconvenient Truth": "This was a slide show. We never dreamt it could be a movie." She talked of actually having something to do with this film. At one critical moment, in an old Santa Monica editing bay, micro-managing Al was showing her the final edit one more time. He looked over and said, "What do you think?" and she said, "It's great. Leave it alone." Right. OK. So, Tipper, hon, you and what's-his-name going to make this . . . you know . . . run yet another time? "No. I'm already a third-time grandmother. Listen, I'm just glad to go to bed as a retired politician's wife and wake up as the wife of a part-time moviemaker. It's over. We're done."

2. Consider the source.
Cindy isn't exactly known as a lover of Democrats here in NYC. In fact, I think she finds Rudy and his new wife/ex-mistress "simply wonderful, fantastic people". Besides, I don't believe Tipper would spill beans as important as those to someone like Cindy Adams.

9. Old Cindy is certainly a wingnut, as said in the Subject line, but she
swims in the cocktail circuit in both channels, hangs with BOTH the PATAKIs AND the CUOMOs. I scour WHATEVER sources for tidbits, sometimes finding a truth. Opposition research, intel, whatever.

3. NY Post?
You mean she wouldn't announce his potential candidacy to the NY Post?

4. And if that is what makes the Gores happy

More power to them.

They are really good people. Tipper worked with the homeless in D.C. and
kept that really quite .... Al's movie is a work of love to all the world.

6. I can't blame Tipper for not wanting to go through that circus again
Campaigns must be nasty stuff for the families of the candidates. I could deal with people insulting me but I would have a VERY difficult time hearing people insult my spouse.

7. Murdoch's Post will never stop their snark against Gore or Kerry.
They have their chosen champions in both parties and will serve their own interests.

8. They can't
Bullies have to keep belittling the true winners when they steal the prize, because their very existence is threatening.

11. Tipper said the exact opposite on ABC TV
Tipper Gore Ready For Another White House Run

June 13, 2006 — She's spent five years recovering from the last run at the White House, but Tipper Gore says she's ready if her husband wants to do it again.

"If he were going to run in the future, of course I would support him," Tipper Gore told ABCNews' Claire Shipman in her first television interview in four years. "I think he'd be a fantastic president. He already got a majority of votes of people in this country once, and so that says something."

Al Gore is back in the political spotlight with his new documentary on global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth," and some are wondering if he'll make another run for president.

"I can't say yes, can't say no," Tipper Gore said. "He is saying he's not interested in running in '08."

At the premiere of his film, Al Gore was more circumspect, however. His exact words were, "I don't have plans to be a candidate again." His wife said not to read too much into the phrasing, however.

"Let me say it exactly," Tipper Gore said. "He has said, 'I'm not interested in running in '08.' Now, as he also says, he's 58. He's got many more years. He probably figures, 'Who knows what might come?' He never imagined he'd be in the movies, walking up a red carpet in Cannes."

12. It's a pretty convincing argument
Run for office and have to put up with the attention and commentary of the likes of Cindy Adams? Can you blame anyone for saying "No thanks" to that?
