This lunatic needs a nukular war.
Even Bush himself now admits in backhanded way that he screwed up in Iraq. He desperately wants to win a war before he fades into history and he sees a nuclear exchange with Iran as one he can’t lose. Disregarding the regional and possibly global horrors that his next war will unleash, he sees an opportunity to exercise the one military advantage we have not yet compromised, nuclear brute force. Frighteningly, this madness still has some support among the lunatic fringe that remains his base and that’s all the encouragement he needs to ignore the nagging doubts that his confused countenance betrays. Turning his back on the elder statesmen of his own party, the few remaining thinkers in the Pentagon and the American people who spoke so loudly in November, he is determined to make his mark in history, even if that mark is the radioactive scorched earth of an entire region. It is time to increase his medication and take him to a safe place where he cannot harm himself, much less the entire world.

1. A mentally disturbed Chimp has his paw on the nuclear button
A nice comforting thought on which to end my day.

2. And Why The F*** isn't anybody doing that?
Increasing his medication and taking him to a safe place? Why is he being allowed to continue following his warped and amoral agenda? What are we missing?

3. I think it must be really frustrating for the righties...
...to have all that nuclear firepower in their pants...er...I mean silos and not be able to use it. It's like having a Ferrari and being forced to drive at the speed limit all the time.

I'll bet the reason nobody's stopped the Chimp is because they secretly want to see their expensive toys in action. They also probably imagine that displaying a willingness to use nukes will make them look like the toughest kids on the block. Which is an important consideration for emotionally inadequate men.

5. I suppose you're right.
It is deeply disturbing to know that such people do not give serious thought to the lives they destroy while screwing around with their big toys. I do not understand how they live with themselves.

6. It's easy.
As long as you don't give a damn about anyone or anything except yourself, anything's possible.

I remember reading that something like a third of the CEOs of major corporations are psychopaths (presumably, that means the other two-thirds are simply ordinary assholes).

Self-absorption, it seems, is the key to success in this world.

7. My father is a repub.
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 02:46 AM by crim son
I don't see him as self-absorbed so much as completely numb. He thinks he's a thoughtful, sensitive man but he is not. At one point he was heavily invested in South African stocks and then my younger sister took him to task. He divested. He'd never before thought of the ramifications of his investment choices. And, he's a doctor. A degree in English, then an MD, IOW, not completely stupid. But numb. Numb as hell.

on edit: typo. There are probably more but I need to hit the hay!

8. I know what you mean.
My father was similar. He was a superficially smart guy who had some major gaps when it came to empathy and compassion. He found it very easy to think and talk abstractly about other people's lives. It was a trait that made him very effective as a corporate shark and hatchetman, but not much of a human being.

9. Bush is the Anti-Christ
Armageddon is not an option -- it's his destiny. And in Chimp's world, nothing we can say or do will stop him from fulfilling that destiny. According to this PRETENDER to the throne, he KNOWS more. He SEES more. He's on a MISSION. This son of privilege has the POWER and he'll use it in the name of a HIGHER POWER (the one he answers to, remember) even if that means unleashing nuclear weapons.

Okay, maybe he's not the anti-christ and he's just nuts. Either way, it looks like we're screwed.
