At long last, Hillary has just issued a statement opposing the escalation.
Guess she had to wait until after she realized Chimpy's speech had bombed before she decided what to say.

1. "At long last"? Wasn't the speech just an hour ago?

5. The escalation plan has been out there for weeks.
Dems with spines came out against it immediately -- but Hillary had to decide which way most of the wind was blowing before she decided whether to oppose it.

7. News to me. If she did, why did she issue a statement just now
opposing the "surge" if she was already on the record opposing it?

2. Love the wind sock!
But I'm glad she came out tonight instead of waiting another minute.

20. Please Give Credit Where Due.
Kennedy and Feingold have been consistant for as long as I can remember. Perhaps others, but I've not followed them closely.

21. I'd bet a lot that they, too, take polls
If I had to pick one politician who looks at them the least, it would be Kucinich.

I do give much credit to all three. But to think that any politician doesn't care about polls is laughable.

:wtf:

The speech ended an hour ago and I thought she said before hand that she was against escalation.
I will have to find a link.

I can't believe you guys are making me defend the Hil. I like her, think she's a decent enough Senator although I am not her biggest fan.

But give the lady a break. Some people here are just way too harsh on Hillary.

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY): “‘I am not in favor of doing that unless it’s part of a larger plan,’ Clinton said. ‘I am not in favor of sending more troops to continue what our men and women have been told to do, with the government of Iraq pulling the rug out from under them when they actually go after some of the bad guys.’”

15. It's unfortunate that she was been nearly invisible
Someone pointed out that she came out against escalation on "The View." Great.

10. Give her a fucking break
She's damned if she does, damned if she doesn't for many of you.

The whining gets really old after a while.

And, no she's not on my short list for whom I would like to see as President.

But, all you guys are going to succeed in doing, if she does get the nomination, is cripple her in the general election, because the Repukes are going to throw all this shit right back into our faces.

Other than criminalizing flag burning and her "no insurance company left behind" Hillarycare extravaganza.

13. Ask her where she stands on the Enduring Bases
Try to get an answer on that. In fact, ask her where she stands on any issue. Call her office as a constituent and try to get an answer. I wish you luck.

She might ask Joe Lieberman about primary voters.
