Did you watch the Dem & R leadership news conference just now after their meeting with Little Boots?
Reid & Pelosi said that there was nothing new in the plan and that they didn't consider this to be consultation with the leadership to be called in on the day of the speech after the policy had already been forumlated and the speech was being practiced.

Boehner & McConnell were spreading the fear. Apparently, the "goal" in Iraq has become "to win." News to me, but ole Mitch made sure that he laid on a thick layer of "if we lose there, they'll be in the streets here" propoganda.

7. McConnell did say that and started that particular foil by
stating that McCain had noted that when we left Viet Nam we knew that the Vietnamese would not follow us. McConnell went on to say that the difference with this "war" is that these people would follow us to fight us in our own streets. It is not an exact quote but it is pretty close. Perhaps someone else has a TiVo to get the exact quote. I watched this on MSNBC.

11. Geez, ya coulda fooled me....there's a load of Vietnamese living here now!!!
They sure as hell followed us home.

But of course, I'm sure the little fear mongering prick meant "follow us, to kill us ALL..."

Like, why? If we leave, why would they follow us? To give us a boot in the ass? To open a chain of kebab houses? I mean, really. Come on....Mitch can surely do better than THAT...

3. 20,000 more troops won't help us 'win' ...
... it'll reduce the ratio in Baghdad from what, 150 to 1 to ... 148.5 to 1 ?

Yeah, that's gonna calm everybody down. Lots. :eyes:

9. Salient point, bluedog.
We must have won in Afghanistan, because Junior is redeploying some troops from there to Iraq. Apparently that threat is over now.

Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 04:09 PM by tnlurker
Mitch McConnell is a senator from Kentucky. He is the current minority leader in the senate. Elaine Chao is Bush's Cabinet. I can't remember which position. They are married to each other.

If they're ever in the streets here Boehner, McConnell, bush**, and
even Cheney will have to cough up their kids to the cause.

This is just such bullshit. 'They' (whoever 'they' is) will most certainly be in the streets here if we keep killing babies, women, old people, and men just defending their country, family, and lives.
