Pat Buchanan almost made sense last night ... but not quite
On Hardball he said something along the lines of, "If you don't support the surge, that's 'stay the course' and we all know that is a failed policy."

And he's right AS FAR AS HE WENT ... what he failed to say is that there are not two but THREE options: (1) stay the course, (2) escalate, or (3) get the hell out either immediately or gradually.

Tweets, of course, didn't point that out to Pat. The American public has already figured it out, though. I'll take Door Number Three.

1. Yeah, he's opting for digging a deeper hole instead of climbing out

2. No matter what the option
we lost this war. There are no good solutions, withdrawing is the best choice of the three but it too will leave a mess that we caused but the first two risks lives which is not acceptable. Iraq is the worst foreign policy failure in American history with long range consequences and * has to held responsible.

3. The best thing I have to say about Buchanan is that he stopped
celebrating Hitler's birthday when he ran for Prez in 2000.

4. Ah,the false dilemma
It's a fallacy that's taught early in logic classes.
