Crash course needed for the Speakers Pro Tem
I know that they haven't been the CSPAN junkies that those of us sitting on the sidelines have been, but they need to learn the language of the procedures for points of order, quorum-not-present, ayes-and-nays, etc.

I mean... it's sad when I can sit here, watching the initiation of a motion to recommit followed by a Repub getting up with the point of order and start mentally rattling off what the Speaker should / would be saying to move the process along.

On the other hand, I'm sure that they'll get better with practice.

3. Yeah, but...
calling for "All in favor, please say 'aye'... All in favor, please say 'nay'" was not so great to begin with.

Maybe the Speaker or Majority Leader's offices should print up cheat sheets or flash cards they can use. :)

2. They will get MUCH better with practice. The curve is quick, fortunately.
And if ya screw up once, it gets in your craw, so you don't want to do it again.

Gotta love it, though!

4. Had the Repugs not shut the Dems out so completely....
Maybe the Dems would have a better understanding of how things work.

So the Repugs are bitching yet again about the mess they've made?

6. Nah - it's the same old pissing and moaning
Also, to be fair (not happy, but fair), the advantage of holding the majority in the House is that the minority doesn't get to play with the gavel or run through the procedures of the House. Hopefully, now it's the Repubs turn to spend a while forgetting they know how to run the House while the adults show them how it's supposed to be done.

they'll get in the rhythm of it quickly.
