1. I attended a funeral a nearby mosque last year for my neighbor.
If you are invited or are welcome to attend a service at a mosque, I recommend it if only to see for yourselves how people worship in ways different from your experience. I found it to be serene, spiritual, and uplifting. I had to go upstairs with the rest of the women and the girls, but that it isn't much different from orthodox judaism.

7. i don't find it uplifting to be segregated, sorry
i'm just funny that way, and i'll pass on all such, i don't care what "religion" it is that is getting a tax break to preach my inferiority

what i would find spiritual is the insane idea that women are people too but this concept has passed from currency and now we are all supposed to kowtow to the religiously insane and think it's marvelous whenever religion is spreading its "logic"

sorry to be so bitter but, yeah, i am bitter

two wrongs don't make a right, and jews segregating women don't make it okay for muslims to pile on too -- or vice versa for that matter

if women withdrew their support of the churches, they would collapse, but too many women never tire of being second class :-(

been around here for a long time , not to advocate pro or con. I do believe in allowing people to worship freely, meaning they are free to walk away if they so choose.

10. See, now to me...
the act of calling a billion people "religiously insane" and calling tolerance "kowtowing to the religiously insane" is a whole lot worse then having the men and women on seperate sides of the aisle in church.

But that's just me.

13. I was told by a Muslim friend it's mainly to make you feel comfortable.
They don't want you to have to look around and become distressed because you don't know the "moves."

FWIW, I don't know if that's true, but I heard it from a Bosnian Muslim.

11. assimilation sure is a powerful force...
Mr.Abdallah looks pretty much like those redneck Norwegian and German farmers that populate the area.

14. .
I'm sorry, my father is a farmer in North Dakota and happens to be Scandinavian and German. I can assure you though, he is not a redneck and that term is offensive to the vast majority of people I know from my home state.

15. Huh?
Just out of idle curiosity, what makes the population there "rednecks"? Should we fear the awsome and over-arching power of redneckosity, which is presumably able to to assimilate all mortals?
