Washington - US First Lady Laura Bush and her mother-in-law, former first lady Barbara Bush, are slated to represent the United States at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy, next month.

According to a statement released by the White House late Monday, the delegation was also to include the skater and US Olympic gold medalist Dorothy Hamill and Herschel Walker, a former Olympian, professional US football player and winner of the coveted Heisman Trophy.

Others in the delegation are Ronald Spogli, the US ambassador to Italy; Brad Freeman, founder of Freeman Spogli & Co.; Roland Betts, founder and chairman of Chelsea Piers; and US Olympic medalists Eric Heiden, Kerri Strug and Debi Thomas.

Barbara Bush is the wife of former president George Bush and the mother of the current President George W. Bush.
