MAKING A POINT

Sunday, January 7, 2007

About 1,200 peace activists lie in the sand at Ocean Beach in San Francisco to spell out "IMPEACH!" in 100-foot letters on Saturday. The folks pictured here formed the dot of the exclamation point. Their message, referring to President Bush, was engineered by local cabbie and travel writer Brad Newsham. He recruited volunteers from around the Bay Area to form the demand that stretched across the sand. Supporters of his Beach Impeach Project photographed the event from a helicopter hovering overhead.

36. That's the plan ...

I think this is the plan.

First, you actually have to do the leg work to make sure you can make a slam dunk case fairly rapidly. In the meantime, you do not want to be calling for blood. You want to be the judicious person. So Pelosi took it off the table so she could reluctantly be "compelled" to do it later from a combination of overwhelming evidence of malfeasance and strong public demand for removing the POTUS.

Yeah, we all know the guy is guilty of a variety of crimes. But you actually do have to end up with the proverbial stained dress to actually pull the trigger.

4. That's one for the history books! God bless America, where the
U.S. Constitution was reborn! --so the children of the 22nd Century will read. Now let's make it happen. We are not torturers. We are not hangmen. We are not the slaughterers of a hundred thousand innocents. And when someone tries to remake us into his own ugly image, we rebel and we impeach!

5. Why has Yahoo made it so difficult to rate these pictures? Am I doing
something wrong? They changed this quite awhile back and I have stopped voting, because it doesn't seem to ever get counted.
Any tips?

Thanks

11. I have trouble too sometimes.
It acts like it doesn't count the votes, or comes up with a page that says something can't be found. It seem to be working because the pics are now on the most rec. page at yahoo pics.

21. There were almost 1200 people there...
the parking lot right next to that area hold a couple of hundred+ cars -- I saw people who had carpooled, plus people who were pouring in from the MUNI stops. As mentioned above, this is SF's main beach, so we weren't the only ones there.

27. Nice, but temporary ...
I visited the US over X-mas and saw an awful lot of white (ie., unused) billboards along the motorways.

How hard would it be to get a group together and do some 3 a.m. painting of this and similar messages?

While the beach stunt is good, only the choir sees it. Doing the billboards would force the Amero-facists to have to face it.

30. True about temporary but it was carried statewide on local newscasts,
and on CNN. It was carried by the AP and prominently in the Sunday paper here.

I think this image is going to make the rounds. ;)

31. Pursue and Prosecute ALL the Criminals!!
Corporate hegemony is the framework within which Bushco has co-opted our Democracy. I see a fine tension developing, especially on the level of each individual citizen of this great nation: do you continue to chase the carrot (ANYONE can get rich in America!) or do you recognize that an obsessive preoccupation with getting wealthy legitimizes and sustains those who would destroy us? Last year, many corporate CEOs made more than 400 times what their least paid employees made--see anything wrong with this picture?

The New Media is not broadcasting these pictures. These low life bastard's are profiteering off Bush war. That why they're trying to keep public dissent off Television. I hope Keith O'Man jump on these pictures and tell the people more about Bush Lies.
