3. For some reason I get the impression
that they kicked Mrs. Young out just so that kicking Cindy Sheehan out didn't seem so partisan. Just a hunch, but after they kicked Sheehan out it's not that much of a stretch of the imagination to think that the SS would go, "shit, we just fucked up, quick, find a republican to kick out so we don't look like idiots."

Just IMHO. Thanks

11. do we know for sure that this picture was taken the night of the SOTU
address, or could it have been taken some other time she was in the Senate (or House?) gallery?

Just a little suspicious that it took two days for this photo to show up.

13. Could be
I was at Alex Jones' site last night and someone who writes for his site made that suggesetion.

Link: http://infowars.com/articles/media/sheehan_mainstream_media_spin_machine.htm

Snip: <For a start, both women should have been left alone according to the law. As Brad Blog points out, a 1971 Supreme Court decision ruled that wearing a "F**k the Draft" T-shirt into a courthouse was Constitutionally protected free speech. Secondly, Young wasn't arrested, she was merely asked to leave. Sheehan was forcibly dragged out of the building and handcuffed and held in detention for hours. Young was asked politely to leave, the Waffen SS wannabe that arrested Sheehan barked the word "Protester" before he dived in. Young argued loudly with officers and called them "idiots" while Sheehan calmly pleaded for them to let her leave quietly.

It is clear that both T-shirts were making political statements, but only the anti-government shirt was deemed to be an arrestable offence.

Furthermore, would Young have been asked to leave if the Sheehan incident hadn't already occurred and Bush's security goons weren't wary of saving face?

20. If young was booted 15 min into the speech, SETUP
PERIOD.

No question. The Sheehan episode was all over the news by then. What the hell was happening in the senate chamber, armed guards walking up and down the aisles during the president's address looking for t-shirts?

The stink isn't going away.

So 15 minutes into it she's creating a ruckus in the gallery? Her stories aren't holding up.

41. If you read an earlier story about the woman, she's like that. Big mouth.
She created the ruckus that Sheehan was reported to have caused, but didn't.

Mrs. Young is quite mouthy when she's pissed. And she also wrote an angry letter to the prez about not limiting donations that can be given to them.

Maybe it was the angry letter that got her kicked out. Maybe she really was protesting, or at least reminding, that people need to REALLY support the troops.

Maybe Bunnypants is just afraid of angry women with tshirts.

Save me Uncle Dick! Save me!

45. Seriously, though...
How did this happen DURING a SOTU, and no one noticed? Dead silence (unless she was hauled out during one of the GOP's many standing ov's) and no one picked up on a "scuffle" going on with a republican rep's wife? Puh-leeze. Strains credulity to the ultimate breaking point.

This story is total bullshit. I'm simply not buying any of it.

Beverly Young said she did not consider a support-the-troops shirt to be a political statement and that it was different from Sheehan's messages.

She said of Sheehan: "I disapprove of everything she stands for."

9. With this rule, I'm wondering why she was let in the 1st place...
...did she have a jacket on over it at first?

My guess is that she removed herself AFTER the Sheehan disruption-

Assuming she did not leave on her own accord (no guards escorting her in photo)-we know they would not have said a word to her if Sheehan had not been there.

I'll eat crow as far as the shirt being worn goes- but I still think we dont have the entire story here.

She admits to cursing the guards- so why no arrest?

Was she told to leve before or after Sheehan?

Was she let in with the shirt- and if it is against the rules- why?

Were the guards told to "look for a lady with a texted shirt" and they nabbed her by accident? Or did they do it on purpose to "look fair."

Were Mrs. Young and Cindy in the same place in the room or were their seats in different places? When I see the pictures of Cindy it looks like she's on the floor and this woman is at the top. I thought she said she was six rows away from Laura Bush? Where did Bush sit? Does she sit that high up?

43. I believe the floor is reserved for those who actually hold office,
Senators, Congressmen, Supreme Court Justices and Cabinet Members, and those who serve those people: Sergeants at Arms and of course, the Secret Service. With all those people, the floor is pretty crowded for these joint session affairs.

The Gallery is reserved for guests, and is the big balcony area.

Clearly a setup.

However, because Repukes are morons, this "setup" helps Cindy Sheehan's Lawsuit, given that Young wasn't arrested.

Just goes to prove that Republicans, while assholes, are still stupid.

Edited on Thu Feb-02-06 03:45 PM by dogday
They make her out to be Mother Teresa while Sheehan is an Anti-War Protester. If she really wanted to help the troops, she would help Cindy help us to bring them home. I say this as a Mom of a soldier who is over there right now...

I am seeing and hearing and reading all slanted Media reports with a bias against the Anti-War protester and still not saying how Cindy got the shit end of the stick.....

ROLL CALL

Young Wins Apology, Police Promise Review
By John McArdle
Roll Call Staff
February 2, 2006

Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer personally apologized to Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.) and his wife Wednesday evening after a Capitol Police officer removed Beverly Young from her gallery seat at the State of the Union address on Tuesday for wearing a shirt with the words “Support the Troops” emblazoned on it.

There's more to the article, but Roll Call requires a subscription. I wonder if there are more photos.

And Roll Call appears to be the original source of the photo; it's on their front page:
