Dem Rules Committee chair to whining GOP: "I feel your pain"
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2007/01/05/pelosi/index.html

<snip>

"The much ballyhooed commitment to minority rights is virtually nonexistent," complained Rep. David Dreier, who as Rules Committee chairman since 1999 had overseen a never-ending Republican effort to curtail Democratic powers to amend legislation. "Promises were made, and they are not being kept," Dreier continued, in his newly discovered role as a champion of parliamentary fairness. "That is the thing that I find most troubling."

A few minutes later, New York Democrat Louise Slaughter, the new chairwoman of the Rules Committee, appeared to be taunting her colleague. "I feel your pain," she said. "I understand your hurt."

"I never used the word 'pain,'" Dreier shot back. "I never said 'hurt.' I said 'disappointed.'" He pointed out that Republicans had not even been given 24 hours to consider the ethics reform proposal, though it was made up of proposals that had been widely discussed in recent months. Even when he tried to submit for the record a time-stamped copy of the legislation proving this point, Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings of Florida raised temporary objections. At another point, Dreier asked that one of his motions be read in full. Democrats tried to object, but he insisted on eating into the Democrats' time.

1. I watched the whining and crying of Dreier
And he was positively SHRILL at points - to any thinking person you would think he was in pain. So park your *dignity* sir. You and the rest of the whiny-assed thugs are NOT acting noble, or even showing some humility when questioning what the Dems are doing. Your little tantrum is duly noted. And I for one hope that the Dems KEEP shutting you and the rest of your crybaby party shut down tight.

Because the thugs DON'T GET IT.

3. Waaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Shorter Dreier: "Democrats are treating as almost as badly as we've been treating them all these years! Waaaaaaa!"

And check out this stunning bit of hypocrisy from Boner:

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) turns the Golden Rule on its head: "What we really expect out of the Democrats is for them to treat us as they would like to have been treated."

Given Boehner's perma-tan, maybe we can call this the Bronzed Rule.

5. Oh, suck it up, Dreier ...
"Promises were made, and they are not being kept. That is the thing that I find most troubling."

You might take a moment to consider what the American citizenry finds troubling -- like the quagmire in Iraq, over 3,000 dead troops and over a half million dead Iraqis, Gitmo, torture, warrantless wiretapping, ignoring the Constitution and the law, signing statements, an Idiot in the White House, a faltering economy, job losses, etc.

But not to worry. I'm sure the entire nation is more concerned with your party's "rights" -- the same rights you were all too happy to deny others.

What a moran -- and a blubbering moran at that!

8. Although it was annoying, it was also quite revealing when
Steny Hoyer and Roy Blunt were engaging in their "kiss and make up" warm fuzzy at the end of friday's session.

Blunt was whining about not having sufficient time to review the package when Hoyer misquoted a sentence from the legislation just passed. Without missing a beat, Blunt corrected him on the wording. Hoyer nodded and kept on talking without noticing, or pretending not to notice, that right there, hanging in the air between them, was the proof that Blunt was a lying sack.

Not only had he had the time to read the bill, but had had the time to memorize it pretty much word for word.
what a crock!

9. Great story, EST! That is priceless!
As much as I like to think of myself as a peacemaker, and consensus-builder, and encourager of others' free speech, and positive thinker, and all that stuff I tell myself, I have got to admit that the Democrats shutting up Republicans, and ramming bills past them, and ripping 'em one, is GLORIOUS and WONDERFUL and MAKES ME LAUGH!

This country has never seen a worse bunch of jerks and thieves as the Bush "pod people" in Congress! SHUT 'EM DOWN! They have no right to speak any more! We are sick unto death of their droning, lying, slimebag voices! We are sick unto death of their unamerican, anti-people, anti-Constitutional, hypocritical, and just plain ugly policies! If we never had to see another one of these creepos again, we wouldn't care--we would be overjoyed! And to hear them squeal with pain at not having enough time to read a bill is music to our ears!

Ah, me! I'm smiling!
