OK, so it's Jan. 6 and all my windows are wide open
Its' 62 degrees and I live in NORTHERN NY State, in the mountains. It's sunny, warm, my neighbors are out doing their YARDWORK, my cats are lounging on the deck, washing their paws, I feel like I should be out planting pansies, tomatoes and mowing the lawn.

I know we've said it a few times over the last few days, but CRIKEY! This is absolutely creepy and not a wee bit frightening...
 :wtf:

At least you've had perceptible snow up there. Here in Saratoga Co, we've not even had a dusting! Extremely strange by this time of year.

2. Meanwhile, Las Cruces, NM, close to the Mexican border
is getting the snowstorm we were supposed to get up north of them.

Please take your weather back.

16. If it bothers you so much, there's this neat "ignore" function...
This is the first I saw one of these - I don't live on the net so it's "new" to many of us...

9. Cinci Here
I turned off my heat last night because it was too warm, and I felt like I was wasting fuel! Fifties as an overnight low in JANUARY? I could open up the window too, except for all the rain I'd get.

Northern New York, is the grass still green up your way?

10. sure is. And the bushes out front have buds and...
it makes an interesting picture, with the neighbors doing yardwork in shirt sleeves, with the Christmas decorations still up and all.

11. Here in NYC...
...I'm about to go out in a tee shirt and jean jacket!

I really want to wear that great vintage duck coat I got for XMas, and sweetie REALLY wants to wear her new/old eskimo parka, but it doesn't look like we'll get a chance to anytime soon. This weather is really wreaking havoc on the metrosexual fashion sense!!!

12. HA! I got a lovely pair of what's called...
bigfoot boots, all fake fur slip ons, but their huge. Still in the box and I fear they will remain there.

ONLY highnote is I'm saving a ton on fuel oil.

14. Our thermometer in the sun read 69.
That's almost 70! My toes should be falling off from the cold, but instead I was outside in a thin button up shirt with no jacket!

15. There were many year where my father planted TULIPS in DECEMBER in BUFFALO in years past.
Of course, then it was usually followed by a white EASTER...

This is hardly unusual - but it's been a long while since we had temps like this now...

17. I'm south of you in Westchester Co. and my rhododendrons are budding! My rosemary from the spring is
still alive and well. I heard on the morning news show this morning that at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, the cherry trees were blooming!
Yes, it's weird, creepy and yet that warm air feels terrific. The oil and gas companies must be going bonkers!

20. The difference is
I always do yard work in the winter here in South Texas. Did it last weekend but I'll be damned if I get out there in 48 degree 30 mph wind drizzly weather this weekend.

21. It's 71 here in No VA. I've had the doors open the past few days.
The dogs have been outside all morning, they don't want to come in, which is very unusual. This week will still be warm, but not like it has been. Still, above normal.

Don't forget the SOB function if you don't like reading these threads. I use it regularly. (Scroll On By)
