2. And it's 70 degrees
here in NYC ... on the 6 of January ... in winter. I should be happy, but it's just too weird. And I'm almost afraid to think of what our summer will be like! If it's 70 in January, what's it gonna be in August?!?!?

4. I'm thinking the same thoughts...
Although it's a bit cooler here today. I'm in west Wisconsin where it's been way too warm and snow free already. I notice that the river is flowing fast and high. I suspect we'll have a bad drought this coming year and that St Louis is going to be taking a bath soon...

11. Maybe the Earth is rotating and the Government is keeping a secret
The West Coast/Southwest is rotating/shifting to the North while the East Coast is rotating/shifting to the South. ;)

5. I hate to be overly gleeful
but north of you, we only got a dusting on top of the 21 inches that's fallen in the past 2 weeks. We are all sighing with relief.

Enjoy it today and hope it melts tomorrow. Little of it up here has melted, at all.

17. The skiing is GREAT!
I moved to NM last year and lamented the lack of snow--turns out it was a terrible drought. This season, I've already been both to Santa Fe and Sandia ski areas (I'm a terrible skier but love to try).

I took my family to the tram for a ride up in the snow and literally buried my face in snow when we got to the top--LOTS of snow up there! What joy!

LET IT SNOW!

7. I lived in Las Cruces for a few years. Snowed about a foot one time.

I went to the mall parking lot to do donuts.

Since it's about 4000', it will get some snow from time to time.

I'm glad to hear you are getting ANY precip out there because of the terrible drought!

8. Just Posted At Another Thread Here! It's HOT In Florida AND
it's been HOT for quite some time now! I've lived here since 1971 and this is the hottest I think I've ever seen it. High 70s and low 80s for quite some time now!

I do realize and feel sorry for those without electricity because of the cold weather, but I look forward to a little respite from the heat every so called winter here. Now it seems I'm going to be running my air conditioner all year round. I hope not! But the weather has been VERY strange for sure!!!

Known for our hurricanes, we had none this past season... but now during Christmas season there were TORNADOS! Go figure????

12. Meanwhile up here on the 45th parallel......
not a bit of snow, the grounds not frozen, the lakes barely got ice on it....and we'll be doing a BBQ on the deck, winter clothing not needed.

13. Snow? You can send us some snow in northern Ohio. If we don't get
more snow this winter we will have drought conditions in the summer. I love snow and will leave my Christmas lights burning in anticipation of getting some.

16. Ooooh! Snow, Coffee, Warm Blanket, and a movie!!
Or baking cookies. Or just reading DU. Whatever it is seems more cozy when it's snowing outside. I love snow. Of course, I love it because it doesn't snow here very often. The midwest used to get pretty harsh winters but the last few years we've become like a tropical paradise in the winter. It's been in the 50's for about a week and the forecast for the next week shows mid-40's. Ok, maybe it's not tropical but it isn't cold. I think in three years I've pulled out a winter coat a total of 3 or 4 times.
