First winter closure EVER for Ontario's largest ski resort
http://www.thestar.com/News/article/168483

Warm temperatures have caused the ski and hospitality industry at Blue Mountain and Intrawest to lay off approximately 1,300 employees.

Yikes!

2. I know a guy here in WV who owns a CC skiing area......
he's hurting this year. Thankfully he has pretty low overhead, so I don't think this'll kill him, but it can't be good. Usually the air temp where they are is at least cold enough to make snow, but not this year. This could spell disaster for the wintertime hospitality industry in this region.

4. According to my Native American studies teacher GW is a natural occurance
and we need to "just deal with it".

She also stated that indiginious peoples of Mexico "genetically engineered corn".

I raised my hand to object and she told me that she wouldn't "get into it".

She told my son's GF who is also taking the winter session class (and the whole class) that she "felt sorry for her" apparently referring to my outspokenness and willingness to challenge her on her incorrect facts (we are using an almost 30 year old book for our text-Reader's Digest-Our Fascinating Indian Heritage).

She also is completely insensitive to minority groups and perpetuates stereotypes about women in a joking, sometimes condescending manner.

I will be filing a formal complaint at the end of the class after grades are given. And to think that I only took the class so that there would be the minimum 15 required so the class would not be cancelled.

The teacher has only been teaching for a year or two part time at the junior college so my complaint may have a big impact.

5. Sounds like one of my kid's teachers (high school)
The teacher told the class yesterday that there's no global warming....the Sun is just getting hotter!

When one of the students suggested that carbon gas emissions might be playing a part in a global warm-up, the teacher shot the kid down with, "you're too much of an enviromentalist".

------------

Anyways, hope that you document several examples about your teacher and follow through with filing the complaint. Good luck with it all! :hi:
