How many baby girls will be named Nancy today!
I just got a chance to watch c-span footage of the vote. What a beautiful thing. She's a remarkable woman. If my next child is a girl, she'll definitely be a Nancy -- if no girl comes along, I'll rename my cat!

Happy new year!

1. Interesting point.
Hopefully many. Pelosi has won my respect after me being skeptical of her in the past. She's done a quality job of proving herself so far.

4. I haven't kept up much lately...
but she did enact spending controls in congress (:wow: so much for repub blabbing points)... it may hurt the Dems in a while, but it'll hurt the Repubs just as much and things have got to get back under control.

9. Yes -- she did worry me for a bit ..
Especially after one really awful State of the Union response ... but, I kept reading about how strong, smart, savvy she was so I think it was just the tenor of the times (bushco "you're a traitor if you betray me")

Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 11:42 PM by hlthe2b

7. I think Pelosi for a girl is perfect ... and a boy
It's tough ... hey Pelosi ... then again it wouldn't be bad for a boy either.

12. depends if you around long enough
or check the birth records.

i'm at the age that i read the obits nowadays, not everyday mind you for that is morbid, but try to look several times a week. Recently, over the last month i noticed 2 Franklin's, one Delano, and 2 Roosevelts, either first or second names. They were all advanced aged, passing on from natural causes.

the times, they are a'changing.

14. Nancy will be the name!
I predict it to be the most popular name of the late 2000's. Like 2008 and 2009!!!!!
But Hillary might edge it out. Or Cindy. That may be popular also. I know the name Laura will go down in the "dustbin of history". Any girl with that name will get their butt kicked! Not that I like butt kicking.

16. My daughter is named Laura.
Of course, she is 23. She is a very active Democrat. Just try to kick her butt, just try.
