THANKS to the Voters of the Unites States of America – Heroes of Election 2006
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 10:36 PM by autorank

THANK YOU for this!!!

Pelosi & Reid Caution Bush on Reckless War Moves
Pelosi Introduces Sweeping Ethics Reforms
Webb & Tester Turn Red to Blue

It’s time to offer high praise and sincere thanks to the American people and their great good judgment in election 2006.

THANKS TO the core of critical thinkers on the left, right and in the middle who never fell into emotional thinking and kept pointing out the follies and dangers of the neocons and their Republican collaborators. This includes everyone here on DU and the other leftie boards, the civil rights movement across the board, which never waivers in it’s ability to think critically, and those on the right like Paul Craig Roberts and Bruce Fein who rail against the tyranny of the boy king.

THANKS TO the vast majority of people who are only occasional consumers of political information for looking around and making their own judgment about the extensive failures of the neocons and their Republican collaborators. The majority of Americans were right about the Iraq invasion before the scare tactics on Saddam’s “nuclear” program and other “WMD.” They would have held fast had it not been for the war enabling press, particularly the New York Times which provided * cover. The American people watched, evaluated and concluded that it was time to fire the neocons and they did so without much if any help from corporate media.

AND VERY SPECIAL THANKS to those leaders like: Rep Conyers; Rep Waxman,; Senator Byrd; Julian Bond; Jesse Jackson; the Valasquez Institute researchers; the bold and truthful Dixie Chicks and all of those who risked personal safety and professional security and comfort by constantly getting “in the face” of the biggest set of bullies in the history of this country through their targeteted efforts to expose the “little man behind the curtain” and the slide into tyranny.

10. They're all looking real good aren't they;)
Webb just knocked Allen all over the state. The exit poll at the end of the day
showed Webb beating Allen by about 6 points. I'd believe that over the official
county. Every time Allen would lob one at Webb, the Webb campaign literally went
nuclear...just rocked his world. If it had been boxing, they would have called it
for Webb as a TKO after rount 3;)

He should be exiled to Fresno.

who went from being an angry guy with spelling issues to a powerful internet journalist whose work was featured on Mexican presidential candidate Obrador's own website, and who has been an essential spark plug in the engine of netroots election reform.

"an angry guy with spelling issues" I take exception to that;) I still have spelling issues...

I'm better at taking slings & arrows than compliments, so I'll just say THANK YOU...it's a real pleasure being associated with the great Elections Research and Discussion comrades who just tell the truth as they know it...regardless. Actually, we're all pretty good at taking it...kind of like Timex...(but I won't go there because I just remembered the key lines)

The very best to you ... we're all bleevers now

16. Ye may be right, but,
By God, they'll pay a helluva lot higher price to protect their own personal asses when they do it!

One thing about St. Charles. It was an object lesson in figuring, and finding, where they bury the fuckin' bodies. Next time they'll have more than four counties to worry about, and the "Flying Squads" will be in place!

If ever I get the chance to get film of one of those thieving bastards, either staring from behind bars or being frogmarched out of a precinct, I will grant you exclusive commercial rights on it!

Or, if you'd rather, I'd pop for a pint of Guinness...

21. Thanks, Autorank, and thanks Dr. Howard Dean
Edited on Sat Jan-06-07 01:16 PM by MissWaverly
I have to give special thanks to Dr. Dean for his 50 state strategy!!!

And thanks to all the election reform activists, keep it coming, folks,
we still have little accountability for what went down and will keep happening until
someone is charged with election fraud.

Autorank, thanks for all your posts on DU, this is our moment, we have to turn this
country around. We have to make this a country that is based on fair elections,
rule of law and the Constitution.

:-)

30. Miss Waverley,, thanks to you...and you're right (see below) I see Dean
as the straw that stirs this drink (to paraphrase the great Reggie Jackson).

He didn't give up and he didn't get enveloped by the swamp of DC strangeness.

Smart and tough...and HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT IRAQ...

Recommended.

the voters, yes, the voters! Ol' Carl Sandburg had his stuff together when he paened:

The people yes
The people will live on.
The learning and blundering people will live on.
They will be tricked and sold and again sold
And go back to the nourishing earth for rootholds,
The people so peculiar in renewal and comeback,
You can't laugh off their capacity to take it.
The mammoth rests between his cyclonic dramas.

The people so often sleepy, weary, enigmatic,
is a vast huddle with many units saying:
"I earn my living.
I make enough to get by
and it takes all my time.
If I had more time
I could do more for myself
and maybe for others.
I could read and study
and talk things over
and find out about things.
It takes time.
I wish I had the time."

To which I add:

Autorank, Yes! tireless Autorank. Adelante, bro.

mvs (on edit: who doesn't know his left from right)

32. The American people - the lumpen proletariat extraordinaire in 2006
They did it on their own...no real leaders (allowed anymore), no remnant of even a semi real media, nothing but smarts and initiative to seek out the truth from friends, neighbors, the net, alternative channels of all sorts...

Edited on Sat Jan-06-07 09:19 PM by ellisonz
backed by nearly $50 million dollars, most of it small contributions and getting establishment recognition by the likes of Gore, Carter, alot of the House and the AFL/CIO, the SEIU and the UFW(?). If it weren't for the MSM, the DLC, and Rove Dean very well may have won in 2004. Oh what could have been...

Howard has done a hell of a job getting the ball rolling and keeping it rolling.

:dem: :patriot:

Edit: $50 million dollars, not $50 dollars, lol! People Power!
