Bush Sr.'s hip replacement: it will take him a heckuva long time to
recover, judging from my mother's double hernia operation (she's 85) which takes about 6-8 weeks.

With Bush Sr. distracted, what will Dubya do? I just get the oddest feeling that he'll pull something while Dad is in rehab....

1. I had the oddest feeling about the sudden "hip replacement"
That Bush Sr., has been breaking down and they got him out of the public eye. I don't usually have these off-the-wall thoughts, but there it was.

2. are you saying 6-8 weeks is a long time?
My dad is 92. He broke his hip in mid November. He went through surgery, rehab and came home this week, walking up the stairs to his house with little need of assistance.

His brother, who is 88, broke his hip in early October and was going to Dolphins games by the end of November.

Not a "heckuva" long time imo.

3. They sound like they're doing really well...I've known of other cases
that don't go as smoothly...I don't know what the "normal" recovery time is

Regardless-- if it's 6-8 weeks, like my mother for her hernias, that's still long enough for Bushco to do something awful...

8. Was your mother's
abdominal surgery? That's painful, regardless of age. People seem to recover from hip replacements much easier.

4. They have come a long way with hip
replacements, it is not uncommon for an average-weight person in good shape to be pretty much recovered in 4 weeks.
