6. No. We want you to contribute in a positive way to the world.

What happened to that peace dividend? What do we need new nukes for at this point?

8. Incredible counter-analysis!

Incredible analysis! You presented us with every other possible option available to the U.S. military and defense agencies. I'm amazed by the breadth and detail of your counter-proposal.

... I'm sure we will give it all the consideration it's due.

Edited: because I'm just not *that* mean.

20. What's your rank son?
Because talking like that...seems you should be lined up to be cannon fodder for this little group of happy campers instead of being holed up in your mommy's basement pretending to be a warrior.

13. Bush wants new nuke bunker busters to use on Iran.
You gotta test them before you use them. At least, that's what Bush would tell you.

Personally, I think it's an exercise in insanity.

15. The purpose of this thread was to show DU that the 50's
bomb tests are still causing cancer across the US and Bush wants to start more bomb tests and all you guys can do it thow smartass remartks at one another. I would have shown a map of how these winds spread out across our country but the God damned thing won't cut and paste. Maybe some of you are still being affected!!!!

24. Actually, those tests are long gone.
The radioactive half-life of most of the isotopes released by a nuclear bomb blast is relatively short. It would depend on the bomb, but most of the fallout would have self-neutralized within anywhere from a few years to a couple decades. While the nature of radiation is that it doesn't just stop, it would have faded considerably after such a period. The longer lived isotopes are by definition the less potent ones.

And just in case anyone reading this thread is confused, Divine Strake is a proposed test using conventional explosives, not nuclear.
