We must abolish Christian Supremacy
I'm a religious person, but I recognize Separation of Church and State as a core value when it comes to our Republic.

So, I've figured out a way to stop the 'christian' Right from turning the US into a nation where non-conservative, non-Christians are second class citizens.

When 'christian' Rightists demand that there be prayer in school, creationism taught, nativity scenes, etc. Don't say "No way", say "You've got it, on one condition..." Then bring in a Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc. to lead a prayer or do whatever the 'christian' Right wants done.

I've seen instances of things like this happening, they'll get mad, stop showing their 'compassionate conservative' side, start whining, get mad at their leaders (like Jerry Falwell) for not pushing hard enough to make sure it is Christians only.

This will divide up the 'christian' Right and render them impotent than just about anything else, I guarantee it.

1. Rather than say that a manger shouldn't be there
Someone should just put up a menorah in the same general area.

Then at least the RW fundies' true colors will turn out.

Or have the principal at a school who happens to be Jewish say a prayer and see how much they yell about it.

3. *might* work but -
you still run the risk of alienating someone's religion. Set, anyone?

On a personal note, my son was in a history co-op and one of the mom's was a passive-agressive. Oh she said was "ok" with my son's Buddhist tendencies. However, when they were reading an historical novel she asked them to find the Biblical passages that book seemingly referenced - but my son didn't have to do that part. He could listen to the others quote the Scriptures they found, though, couldn't he?

So - my son brought in his list of BUDDHA's sayings that paralleled the text and read them to the group.

That put an end to that little exercise.

11. I always put my little Buddha statue
under the "Christmas" tree, so he can have a fun-looking bodhi tree. My Jewish friend found it humorous.

4. Texas Football
Do they still have prayers announced over the loudspeaker before High School football games there?

Insist that Wiccan Priestesses do those prayers at least some of the time.

Picturing the looks of horror upon the faces in the crowd... it's just amusing. LOL.

10. That's a great idea!
Here in darkest south Mississippi, all it would take would be a Roman Catholic priest showing up at grammar school, making the sign of the cross, and leading the class in several Hail Mary's. The good Protestants in the south don't accept that Catholics, Mormons, or Orthodox Christians are "real" Christians at all. Frankly, 90% of them have deep suspicions of Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, and Presbyterians. If you ain't a "Babdist" or a Pentacostalist, you ain't a Christian!

15. Knowing the South and Southerners
I get the joke. They'd be aghast if a Priest showed up at grade school. They'd pull their kids out of school so fast that the vacuum would pull the sidewalks up as they left.

Catholics are NOT "Christians" down there.

I have spent quite a bit of time trying to determine just exactly what their religion really is. You would think I would know, but I don't. It's a mystery to me. All I know is that I haven't got it. :)

Thanks for the post.
