O' Reilly to appear on Colbert Report - that's the rumor - portrait reclaimed
http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=516553

The portrait of Fox News pundit Bill O’Reilly is gracing the halls of the Kennedy School of Government (KSG) no more.

The Colbert Report has temporarily reclaimed the picture—presented to the school by the show’s host Stephen Colbert early last month—“in anticipation of an expected appearance by Bill O’Reilly on the Colbert Report in the near future,” according to Institute of Politics (IOP) Director of Communications Esten Perez.

<snip>

After receiving the portrait, the Institute of Politics housed it in Shaheen’s office until the show’s crew came back for it two weeks later.

“We had the portrait here in the IOP Director’s office for a little over two weeks before the show reclaimed it, and, should the portrait return here at some point, we will find an appropriate spot for it then,” Perez said.

Neither Fox News nor Comedy Central confirmed that O’Reilly will be appearing on Colbert’s show.

4. Fascinating. The parody and the reality face-to-face.
Colbert's schtick is a parody of Hannity and Billo ... and we could probably argue forever about which is more representative. I foresee much ju-jitsu ... Colbert cheering some proclamation by Billo and immediately presenting it in its full-blown insanity.

9. no, the intentional and unintentional parody face to face.
I don't think O'Reilly is anywhere close to reality.

5. O'Reilly is totally lame, but he thinks he's a bucket of fun.
His recent appearances on Letterman and The Daily Show have been stiff and unamusing.

If Colbert can breathe some life into the interview, it will be a tribute to Stephen's gifts as an interviewer.

8. Don't underestimate the impact on O'Reilly's spiraling ratings.
Olbermann has put a hole in the tire of O'Reilly's machine, and Bilbo needs all the help he can get.

It's no accident that a rightie like Scarborough has been sucking up to Jon Stewart, and it's no coincidence that O'Reilly has been making the tour of all the left-leaning talk shows.

We can only hope that he'll go Billistic.

7. Watch the wingers' heads explode.
They don't recognize Colbert's satire and think he's the real deal.

What will they think when he starts debating O'Reilly, and both sides of the argument make "perfect sense" to their synapse-challenged minds?

10. It is funny
I talk to some people in the real world who actually think Colbert is serious. Unbelievable. The dumbing of Amererrika
