747 days left to impeach George W. Bush
I was all set to chill out and let the investigations take their due course. But with Bush now about to declare that he is going to ignore the will of the people and the Iraq Study Group and send in yet another 20,000 troops to the meat-grinder that we call Iraq - and then lecture the rest of us, the unwashed heathen, that this is a "sacrifice" - I honestly think this in itself may be an impeachable offense.

We did not elect a Democratic Congress to play footsie with Bush. We elected a Democratic Congress to fix America with or without help from the Oval Office. We cannot afford the likes of Bush in the corridors of power anymore.

Tomorrow, the 110th Congress gets sworn in. Impeach, impeach, impeach.

4. Investigate, investigate, investigate.
If you want impeachment to appear legitmate to the American people you must investigate before you impeach. A DA does not indict a criminal first and then go gather evidence and investigate. This is not a difficult concept.

5. We may not have that luxury anymore
The BBC reports that Bush will soon announce a surge of 20,000 US troops into Iraq for purely political reasons, and that he'll describe it as a "sacrifice." He is doing this in defiance of the American people and even his own party.

If this isn't a high crime, I don't know what is.

7. Well, then don't investigate. That's right. Who needs stinking investigations.
Have the impeachment next week and then vote in the Senate the next week and then its' over since there will not be 67 votes to convict. I don't know, how many times can you re-impeach a president? Do it right or don't do it. Pelosi knows that and that is why she says impeachment is off the table.

8. so you think that without investigations there will be impeachment?
that it will just pass and then 2/3 of the Senate will vote to convict and kick Bush out of office? I'd like to have what you are drinking.

2. It's going to take effort from every single one of us
We won't get something done about this war until people take to the streets in protest. Don't depend on your Congress to do it for you. We have to be the fighters and take back the government ourselves.

3. We can stop this if we find the will to do it.
We truly have a sociopath in office. Did anyone read my post regarding the Buzzflash interview with Dr. Justin Frank today, please read it's long but it details what kind of person we are dealing with. Here's a snip of the article.

A BUZZFLASH INTERVIEW

I think what he does is he turns everybody who disagrees with him into his father. It doesn’t matter whether it’s actually the concrete representation of his father, like Baker, or the voters who vote against staying in Iraq. We have become his father. We are the people he is now defying. He will turn everybody, any authority, anybody who disagrees with him, into a father figure who he’d have to defy. -- Justin A. Frank, M.D.
