New York can now officially say: Governor Elliot Spitzer! He was officially sworn in at midnight and the Pataki reign is over!

In a few days the dems we all worked so hard for will be in control. We will have to do our job and keep after them but there is hope. Hope for our beloved America and hope for the world.

Here in Iowa, we have newly elected Gov. Culver, Lt. Gov. Judge, Sec. of State Mauro, and Congressmen Loebsack and Braley. Culver and Judge (and I assume Mauro) get sworn in on the 12th. HOORAY!

7. All these new dem Governors

are so important, they will set the stage for a new type of government. It isn't all in DC and taking over the statehouses is going to be great help in setting a whole new tone.

but New York may not want to let go of him! We are going to the public Inauguration tomorrow, the first one NY has ever had, a whole day of festivities and evening concert.

11. I just got back from delivering a calf

for my neighbor with whom I had some "issues" in 2006. She'd planned for her son to come over and do it but he and his wife went to SF for the weekend and she called in a panic about 7:30. My kids were over for New Years and my son in law and I went over and got the little guy out. Afterward my wife, son daughter and daughter in law all came over and we sat in the barn and drank Johnnie Walker straight from the bottle and compared notes on who disliked * the most. Now I plan to sleep until about noon. Happy New Year everybody.....

a little after 9 PM (Pacific time) i was scanning thru the TV channels and landed on FoxNews and they had a band singing "War is Over".

Wonder how that got on the air?
