When I first got my cat (as a kitten), I had her Mom cat come to my house for a few days to keep her company. Mom cat liked to curl up in the sink, and my kitten curled up in the little indent where the soap goes! I wish I'd snapped a picture of that!

On stuff, I don't like it when they dress those poor patient pusses, but most of it is pretty funny and harmless. We cat lovers are such mushy goobers. Just now, I gave up on making up our bed with fresh sheets because my 18 lb. baby is sleeping on it... :loveya:

From the stuff site, I liked this elf:

Of course you couldn’t change the bed. Kitty comfort is top priority.

Here, utility bills are high, because the kitty’s heater is on most all the time. Yes, she has her own heater. :)

212. I don't find that strange at all!
My Lucky dog was raised for four years by someone else who kept him outdoors, all the time and subsequently forgot to take him with them when they moved. He also wasn't housebroken, fixed, had shots, training, etc. etc. so unfortunately, I can't bring him in. I am still working with him but we are afraid he would break the house and much of what's in it, so at night or when it's especially cold during the day, he stays in the garage with his bed, toys, chews and yes, his own heater! Space heaters work especially well for that purpose and burn less energy if kept low and steady! We do keep our screen door open between the garage and the kitchen so it's like he's inside anyway but then he can talk to the us and the kitties. I wish I had raised him from a puppy but he is a happy dog.

235. For cat people,
we've become doggie people now too. There is nothing like the adoration in a dog's eyes...I never feel totally worthy of it. I think the coolest quote (by who knows) is "Please God make me the person my dog thinks I am." I wish we could have gotten this guy little. I think he would have been a perfect housedoggie.

We bought him a lifetime membership to Petco Dog School. It's just a matter of picking a schedule and sticking to it. It is a lot more time-consuming to train our doggie friends, but he gives me a lot less attitude than the kitties! LOL

134. "I have no special
explanation of Faust ready prepared and filed away.. And in any case you are well provided with commentaries of every kind. Listen: take all of those second-hand wares back to the library from which they originally came! (Perhaps in the meanwhile you have already done so.) what you are destined to find in Faust, you will have to discover intuitively (N.B. I am only talking of the first part). Faust is a genuine myth, i.e., a great primordial image, in which every man has to discover his own being and destiny in his own way. Let me make a comparison: whatever would the Greeks have said if a commentator had planted himself between them and the Oedipus saga? There was an Oedipus chord in every Greek that longed to be directly touched and to vibrate after its own fashion. The same is true of Faust and the German nation."
-- Cf, Burkhardt's letter to Albert Brenner, 1855

This quote will not be found in the re-runs of the sit-com "The Flying Nun." I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

137. `Have some wine,' the March Hare said in an encouraging tone.
Alice looked all round the table, but there was nothing on it but tea. `I don't see any wine,' she remarked.

`There isn't any,' said the March Hare.

`Then it wasn't very civil of you to offer it,' said Alice angrily.

`It wasn't very civil of you to sit down without being invited,' said the March Hare.

`I didn't know it was your table,' said Alice; `it's laid for a great many more than three.'

`Your hair wants cutting,' said the Hatter. He had been looking at Alice for some time with great curiosity, and this was his first speech.

`You should learn not to make personal remarks,' Alice said with some severity; `it's very rude.'

The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this; but all he said was, `Why is a raven like a writing-desk?'

`Come, we shall have some fun now!' thought Alice. `I'm glad they've begun asking riddles.--I believe I can guess that,' she added aloud.

`Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?' said the March Hare.

`Exactly so,' said Alice.

76. "Later on he called
to my attention to the fact that the sequence of the 3 aspects does not matter. As there are 6 possible sequences, we have to multiply our probability by 6, which gives 1 : 1500. To this I reply that I never suggested anything of the kind. The sequence, i.e., the way in which the 3 conjections follow each other, has no importance at all."

232. You're curious?
I came on this thread this morning and only one poem entered my head

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a thread,
That made me laugh and caused some spills
Beside the OP, below replies,
All I see is several whys.

I return tonight and see

Continuous as the stars that shine
Delightful as a sunny day
Replies stretched in never-ending line
As DUers ad lib along the way
Nealy five thousand have given it a glance,
I guess many are now in a giddy trance.

ROTFL

But this thread makes more sense than Bush did all year.

Happy New Year DUers :yourock: :grouphug:
