The Constitution grants Americans basic human rights
Why is it so many are so eager to deny non Americans the same basic human rights. One of those rights is the right of Appeal, especially in Capital cases. We consider that a basic right but would deny non-Americans. The exact same thing for Habeas Corpus..Why would Americans that are so proud of their Basic Rights be so willing to deny others the same? Is it that they don't consider them "basic" but privileged? I don't get it..

should carry with our citizens and extend to anyone on soil under our control, that they have to uphold them if they are 'spreading democracy' or helping the poor in another country.

Basic human rights are part of the package of being human. Government documents can enumerate rights, curtail, or infringe them, but cannot create them out of a vacuum.
