Interesting how he died a free man though.

"Thirteen former dictatorship-era security agents were sentenced Friday to prison terms ranging from five to 18 years for four killings committed in revenge for the bloody 1986 assassination attempt of dictator Gen. Augusto Pinochet.

The sentences announced by judge Haroldo Brito are expected to be appealed.

The heaviest sentence, 18 years, was issued against Alvaro Corbalan, a prominent operative of Pinochet's security services who is already serving a 14-year sentence in another case.

Corbalan and the other 12 were convicted in September 1986 for the killing of journalist Jose Carrasco and three members of the Communist Party, one day after Pinochet's motorcade was ambushed by a pro-Communist guerrilla gang. Pinochet survived unharmed but five of his bodyguards were killed."

And THEY get to appeal their sentences, how 'cool' is that? Sounds like Saddam's execution for an act of revenge he committed is going to cover up any news of Pinochet doing the same exact thing.

1. He also made torturing and terrorizing suspected "leftists" his obsession,
having his people throw them out of helicopters into the ocean, lakes, rivers, dropping them on the Andes mountaintops, torturing them in NINE torture centers spread around Chile, and torturing even an English priest to death on one of THREE TORTURE SHIPS sailing off the coast of Chile, where they weren't bound by Chilean law, in an arrangement just like Guantanamo.

ANOTHER bloody dictator, this one during Bush's reign of terror, Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan is known for BOILING his political prisoners TO DEATH. Bush had great relations with him until he tried to shake him down for more money for the use of Uzbekistanian air bases by American personel.

4. If we don't hang our leaders who
were responsible for supporting Iraq during the Iraq-Iran war(oh, he was a madman back then as well, when he was our supposed "ally"), and provided him with funds and what not, this execution has no meaning whatsoever to me at least.
