11. Yeah quite the bargain
3000 dead 20,000 wounded countless Iraqis "liberated" and we have one dead dictator and a destroyed country to show for it. Can we re-gift this sucker?

12. His death is worth nothing
Just posted this on another thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x3006667

Is it worth spending in excess of 3248 coalition troops to ensure the death of Saddam Hussein? Is it worth spending those lives to shore up the asinine, juvenile fantasies of GWB? No and No.

Nothing would make it worth while to "spend" these lives: not increasing the excessive profits of Halliburton; not ensuring the USA has sufficient oil to squander. Every life is unique and therefore every life is priceless; even those lives which are spent destroying others. Killing Saddam has had no effect other than making a very few people temporarily joyful.

The reign of terror Saddam imposed was ended with capture of Baghdad and an anarchy of terror has succeeded it. The frightful death toll in coalition lives is dwarfed by the unimaginable death toll of Iraqis and no one death - not even that of Saddam - can make it "worthwhile".
