And, if so, how the hell do you do that? I am just flabbergasted by the amount of people sporting wood over this execution and it seems so out of place here.

3. Well I am not a christian
and I really do not mind that he is dead. Now if we can only start on all the criminals in this country that started the war.

4. i know a lot of christian on the right and say an eye for an eye. further in the bible

jesus sermon on the mount says.... you will hear an eye for an eye, i say.... turn the other cheek.

i have spent a lot of time hearing this from the fundamentalist, and in my belief in christ it never made sense. i thought hte end of passage stated vengence is mine sayth the lord. but it didnt say that. not long ago looking for the contradiction to eye for an eye i found it in the new testament from christ.

turn the other cheek

8. Are you reading any of the thread?
There are plenty of people posting who are quite supportive of this killing.

10. Link? I don't see any "rejoicing" either.
Without a link, I call flamebait.

Not all on DU think this is a bad thing

On that first link, there are several people saying it was a good thing. On that second link, look at message 9 for a good example. I can't believe that the two threads I am involved in are the only ones with people in favor of the hanging.

17. Not 1
I'm not going to post everyone I have responded to and go find the others that I just ignored for lack of wanting to get into it with some other jackass. The first thread I linked to had at least a handful of people supporting the killing. There are plenty of others on other threads.

And on this issue, it amazes me that there are even a handful of people on DU that would support the death penalty, much less in this instance.

18. The VAST majority of DUers are at the very least troubled, if not downright ashamed,
about the execution.

To call what you pointed to "rejoicing" is stretching it past all credibility as well.

But suit yourself.

19. I would not argue with the vast majority being accurate
It doesn't amaze you that there are so many supporting it? That is what I am responding to. I am not saying that the majority of DUers support it. I'm just sickened that so many are in favor of it. But if it doesn't bug you, then don't let it bug you.

12. Who's "sporting wood"? Most of the stuff I've read indicates
most people are disgusted with the whole spectacle.

The number of people that aren't disgusted is what amazes me on this board.

21. I'm going to lock this.
Do not post "flame bait" discussion topics. While there is no clear line regarding what constitutes flame bait, the moderators have the authority to shut down threads which they consider too rhetorically hot, too divisive, too extreme, or too inflammatory. Please use good judgment when starting threads; inflammatory rhetoric does not normally lead to productive discussion.

When discussing race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or other highly-sensitive personal issues, please exercise the appropriate level of sensitivity toward others and take extra care to clearly express your point of view.

Do not post messages that are bigoted against (or grossly insensitive toward) any person or group of people based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, lack of religion, disability, physical characteristics, or region of residence.

With regard to religion (or the lack thereof), Democratic Underground is a diverse community which includes Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics, and others. All are welcome here. For this reason, we expect members to make an extra effort to be sensitive to different religious beliefs, and to show respect to members who hold different religious beliefs. Members are welcome to discuss whether they agree or disagree with particular religious beliefs, but they are expected to do so in a relatively sensitive and respectful manner. As a general rule, discussions about ideas are usually permitted, but broad-brush bigoted statements about groups of people — either religious or non-religious — are not.

best,
