I think he just made a great point, but I would reword this so that we could REALLY use it. Maybe some Dems who voted for the IWR won't like it, but oh-fucking-well.

10. Kerry's Iraq withdrawal plan WAS a positive move for Iraq and US, but

received little attention even though it was endorsed by people like terror expert Gary Hart AND antiwar voices like Tom Hayden who said it was actually DOABLE on all counts.

It requires large drawdowns at each step forward to prove to the Iraqi people we have no longterm plans for occupation and turning over the permanent bases we already built there.

The essential reason to invade Iraq was Cold War ego. That ego was put at stake, utterly exposed to the forces of reality, by this Iraq venture.

is the least of our problems. Rising casualties, growing deficits, global warming, nuclear proliferation are far more serious than a bit of humiliation on the part of the US. There are consequences to our actions. Maybe humilation is one of those consequences.
