6. I actually had a dream about it last night

I woke up and lit up a smoke and took two drags as I made my way down to the back door and then I tossed it out in the yard.

I rarely think about it anymore (16 months after 20+ years of smoking) so I have no idea what brought that on.

And then, in my dream, I think, Jayzus, I QUIT! What the hell am I doing?

I quit about nine years ago, after about a pack a day for 10 years.

You quit & can still keep smokes in the house? The only way I think I'll ever be able to quit is if someone takes away my car keys so I can't run down to the store & buy a pack (just one...then I'll stop.) I really buy the argument that nicotine is more addictive than heroin.

Every day it crosses my mind. For years I was always tempted to bum one when my friends would light up but thankfully that part has pretty much gone away. *sigh* Nasty habit to long for but that is the case with addiction.

...a friend o'mine always had Camel's because that's what her Dad smoked...I guess she learned this from him but she'd say see that camel's back...see how low his hump is...where do you think he goes to drink water..then she'd turn the pack over and say..."...around the corner to Baghdad!!!" :o

between the apparently nationally important story of (don't call them rich!) (don't call them dumb!) climbers being searched for and something about college kids taping their year abroad (OH the importance of THAT) and oh YEAH we are getting ready to provoke war with IRAN in 2007.

The government we have is saying fuck you to all of us (boy we showed THEM with that election!)-LET's ADD MORE TROOPS-and oh boy our apparent nominee that's being shoved down our throats-Ms. Clinton has no problem with that-"as long as it's done in the right way."

So Merry Christmas. Cheney is going to start another war. And frankly if we start a war with IRAN, smoking is going to be the least of any bodies worries in this world.

I used to pick these up at the vending machines in the mens' rooms along the New Jersey Turnpike. Don't know if they even exist any more. They really did smoke those little cigarettes and were a great hit at parties.
