5. So do I. If the can make Mrs. Alito cry, they can
whip up an outraged congressmans wife. Question becomes how did they know that Cindy would have a teeshirt on. Rovian stink.

11. It doesn't have to be that involved
Really, it could have been an unrealted, planned PR stunt.

Maybe they wanted to say that Democrats booed at her or complained about her and asked her to leave.

Conservatives just have to feel oppressed, or they can't function.

12. Why does this have to be some sort of "PR stunt"?
Edited on Wed Feb-01-06 12:29 PM by MercutioATC
Security was given a briefing in which they were told what was and was not acceptable at the SOTU. It seems that T-shirts bearing any political message were included in the list of unacceptable things. They did what they were told to do. They ejected two people for wearing T-shirts with political messages (granted, they handled a Congressman's wife more gently than a guest, but wouldn't you kinda expect that?).

Why does this have to be some GOP "stunt"?

4. Bush calls it a "war on terror"?
More like a war on our freedoms, civil liberties and now what we can and can't wear to me. When do we all have to get fitted for our government uniforms?

8. The latest buzz is that she was "removed"
And Cindy was arrested after being asked to leave.

Get your hip boots out folks, I expect the BS to rise at alarming rates from here on out.

See, they were treated the same at first, but the radical Cindy refused to comply and they were forced to use stricter methods.

Ya, that's the story.

14. Actually, the "Story" is that they didn't even know it was Cindy. They
Edited on Wed Feb-01-06 12:32 PM by cryingshame
were manhandling a woman who was wearing a t-shirt and then treated her more gently AFTER finding out it was Cindy.

That's from Cindy's own damned account.

How many black people do you think will get picked up for driving while black this week? How many black people do you think will get beaten or even shot for some stupid shit?

Sorry Cindy got some bruises, and the cops should be held liable... but there's way more egregious shit going down right this moment.

What a waste of percious time.

16. I read what Cindy says took place
I was recounting what I had just heard on my local news. That was why I called it the latest buzz rather than the truth. The fact that the report was more than a bit light on truth accounts for the BS alert.

I'm not negating the civil rights atrocities that take place daily in this country, I'm sorry if you somehow thought that I was.

18. Excuse me, but I think that's a fabrication. I can't imagine a
GOP wife showing up to the SOTUS in a T-shirt of any kind. It would be too disrespectful to the presidential potted shrub.

I don't suppose the praetorian guard, or whoever guards these events, would have a journal or list of incidents? It would be interesting to get a peak at it.
