More on the Lies that Led to Iraq War

According to The Independent, a London newspaper, the British government's (and hence, the U.S. government's) "case for going to war in Iraq has been torn apart by the publication of previously suppressed evidence that Tony Blair lied over Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction." The evidence comes from British diplomat Carne Ross, a negotiator for the British government at the UN who participated in the crafting of UN sanctions against the regime of Saddam Hussein. snip

It is crucial to note that this war, which was begun on false pretenses, would not have happened if Congress had not been derelict in its duty under the Constitution. That august document provides that only the Congress has the power to declare war – not the president. That the U.S. military was used to invade another nation that had not attacked the United States, and that this invasion was carried out on the dual authority of the President and the United Nations on the basis of outright lies and deceit, makes the resulting war one of the biggest, if not the biggest, most flagrant violations of the Constitution ever by a sitting president.

1. The late adopters are jumping on
Given the outrageious criminality, he should be asked to resign to stave off the embarassment
of taking down the entire republican party with him in to a war crimes trial.

4. We actually passed out democratic yard signs to a Bircher
during the last election! He came in our democratic HQ's and we had some interesting and lively debates. Come to find out these right wingers are completely fed up with Bush. Now on other issues we didn't quite see eye to eye...like immigration and inclusion.
