Well, apparently the news has been canceled again
The lost climber story is certainly news, but it's not 4 days worth of 24/7 news with no apparent end in sight. A few years ago this would be no more than a local story with occasional mention in the national news.

I feel so relieved that nothing is happening in the world except some helicopters flying over a snowy mountain. :sarcasm:

1. You'd think the 24/7 coverage of the guy who claimed to have
killed Jon Benet Ramsey would have embarrassed the lot of them, but apparently not.

2. don't have to talk about "complicated" stories like global warming,
a berserk "Commander"-in-Chief, etc. Thank God for unfortunate/tragic winter weather mishaps!

4. Heh, no kidding.
We just went through this huge storm that killed six people.

When I got the power back on, the news said "the good news is the storm's over, the bad news is those climbers are still missing."

5. This is just a perfect example (for those who need one) of how
the American journalistic media have made themselves obsolete.

6. Yes.
Late last night I mistakingly turned on CNN to get a little news before crashing and got nothing but the Mt Hood story. What a waste.

8. Apparently the James guy and his family are/were BIG Xtians
My cynical mind thinks this was a concerted effort by MSM to make this a big Xmas story of success where his wifey , who was so bubbly and Xtian, could thank Jaysus for saving her hubbie.

Since James was probably dead since Wednesday, I think we can safely say that God killed James and has killed the other two as well.

It will be fun to watch the Xtian excuses for why Gawd didn't save his ass. It wasn't GAWD that killed him, but if he had been found alive, it would be Gawd who saved him.

I love how that works. Reminds me of Bush.

9. I wonder if the MSM will figure out that these stories don't always have a happy ending?
Probably not. Sad endings don't sell very well to Americans.

13. 31,000 people a month die in Congo due to civil war.
But, that's hardly news and it doesn't sell SUVs and Viagra.
