My letter to KATIE COURIC! To HELL with their SHIT!
Edited on Wed Feb-01-06 11:50 AM by Blue_Roses
I'm so sick of these "so-called" journalists sitting in their "glass houses" throwing stones when they have no fucking clue as to what is going on in the world of the "little people."

Dear Katie,

Upon waking this morning I flipped on the televison to see you interviewing John Kerry. Now, I no longer watch your show in the morning because I like my morning reporters to show more maturity (something you are severely lacking) in their reporting, but I did tune in to hear the exchange between the two of you and I have to say, you really should have stuck to being a weather girl.

First of all, interrupting your guests when they are speaking in order to get your "sound bite" is rude and very irritating.

Secondly, you really are a naive if you actually think that the media's voice doesn't play a role in the people's perception. (thank-God for the internet where we can get real news) The "megaphone" that John Kerry speaks of is just that---a media megaphone for this administration, with you yelling the loudest this morning (yes, I switched the channels and observed other stations after this farce of an interview). It's no comparison and with the spin that is added, it's sickening.

Thirdly, as a teacher, I along with many of my colleagues are disgusted with the "inflated NCLB" scores. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If you reporters would actually do your job and report the actual "inflated" (otherwise known as fraudulent) test scores you would be ashamed and saddened at how this "program" is NOT working. Do you think it helps our children when you report with such negligence, while defending this administration. (Oh, that's right, we all know who signs your paycheck--GE--and we all know you have to "get on board"). I have links and references to this if you have any interest in knowing. (I won't hold my breath)

And last but not least, I wonder how you reporters live with yourselves in your deluded world while you take in millions. You don't speak for those of us who live day to day wondering if we will be able to pay the rent or worry that our child will get sick and not have adequate health care, or why our representatives vote themselves a pay raise while IGNORING the fact that minimum wage is grossly underpaid and puts many below poverty levels, making it a necessity for them to work more than one job to survive. It makes me sick that these stories are not reported. This is not the America my parents fought for in WWII. It has become a GREEDY, self-indulgent, money-hungry state of the union where the "little people" mean nothing and only survive by the love of a higher power that reveals itself in people who actually care.

Come live in our world and see what reality REALLY is.

:argh:

I actually signed my name, so I guess the black SUV with the dark tinted windows will be driving up soon:eyes:

I can't stomach Katie. She tries to be all "cutesy" and giggles like a little school girl.I never watch the today show. I've quit watching all the rightwing shows, and since that is all you can get when you turn the TV on,I've been watching movies. I feel a lot better too.

TO: today@nbc.com

Subject: Katie is the GREATEST!

Greatest WHORE for the Bush administration, that is. Her performance as your perky infotainment mistress while interviewing Sen. John Kerry this morning was nothing short of biased and unbalanced. If you aren’t going to send her back to journalism school to teach her the importance of fairness and balance in the media, then at least do your viewers a favor by not renewing her next contract and send her over to Fox News where she can whore for the administration to her heart’s content.

8. You need to send copies of that letter to NBC News and
the producers of these television programs as well. Couric seems to have a problem handling criticism, especially if she has made a mistake and people complain.

We all got to ride that camera up Katie's colon and she's so wonderful and perky, and so strong because she lost her husband. Oh, and she's so strong. She lost her husband, you know. So she has to be strong! Did I mention she lost her husband to colon cancer.

God, Katie is sooo strong.

husband to colon cancer, but she is the ONLY woman in America who has ever lost a loved one to cancer.

13. Thank you so much, Blue_Roses!
That was an excellent letter to the shill at nbc.

I emailed after she interviewed Dean..and since then Paul Krugman has called her out in the nyt.

"Yet over the past few weeks a number of journalists, ranging from The Washington Post's ombudsman to the "Today" show's Katie Couric, have declared that Mr. Abramoff gave money to both parties. In each case the journalists or their news organization, when challenged, grudgingly conceded that Mr. Abramoff himself hasn't given a penny to Democrats. But in each case they claimed that this is only a technical point, because Mr. Abramoff's clients -- those Indian tribes -- gave money to Democrats as well as Republicans, money the news organizations say he "directed" to Democrats."

Much more..

20. Katie's Reply...
...Dear Blue_Roses:

Thanks so much for watching. Can you believe that I have the same first name as someone who dates Tom Cruise? I'm like...oh my God...so stoked! He's dreamy!! ;) ;)

Speaking of dreamy, can you believe that I get to "work" with Matt Lauer. Now that his hair is getting longer, he is lookin' so fine...(not that I minded his "Special Forces" buzz cut. I could pretend that he just got back from Iraq, you know, defending freedom! That is SOOOOO Sexy!!!!)

Anyway, thanks for writing! Tune in tomorrow when we have a special on "Boobie Jobs...Is 12 Too Young?" I can't wait for the segment with Bill O'Reilly. He like sooooo flirts with me off camera. He says I have "bedroom eyes." giggle...

Love,

Katie ;)

Seriously, though. I like the letter. Good organization. "Along with many of my colleagues" is a subordinate clause in that context. It is not part of the subject and shouldn't thus cause the verb to be plural. Just saying.

41. Here's a tip:
Katie is hoping to hop on over to nightly NBC news and whore in the big leagues. I know, I read TV Guide. That's why she's so mean to those that dare challenge the Emperor and makes sure she's up on the GOP talking points. It's called an interview.

Tip 2: Do not watch the Today Show. I don't. I don't watch propaganda. It's that simple. And yeah-the million dollar salaries they get to sway public opinion adds salt to the wound. I have a long memory and it even pains me to flash to her on the Thanksgiving Day parade. It's that bad. Stop forgiving them and stop watching them. It's the only cure for your sanity and it's the right thing to do.

47. I wrote to NBC and demanded that Lauer and Couric be fired.
On Friday, January 27, I sent a sharply critical email (in which I typed my name and city of residence) to <Today@NBC.com>. In my email, I demanded that NBC fire both Couric and Lauer. I believe that, when Couric was interviewing Howard Dean, she had it planned to rudely interrupt and condescendingly admonish him whenever he would state that Democrats took no money from Abramoff. Of course, Mr. Dean was correct, and Couric was misinformed. I believe that Couric surrounds herself with younger producers who do not investigate stories but, rather, feed her (and Lauer) Rove-instigated talking points. I was not surprised to read that, yesterday, Couric was similarly rude to Senator Kerry. Let's keep up the complaints to NBC if Couric or Lauer continue with broadcasting propaganda dressed up as news reporting.
