This talk about sending more troops
My head is spinning . Bush post-pones his speach , Lieberman and McCain want more troops . Today I hear Reid apparently for sending more troops on a short term basis .

This is just the latest I hear . I have no clue what bush is up to . Some say bush is holding off so he can look like the good guy by pulling the tropps out , others say he will never pull out and stay the course or the new , new way forward chatter .

I don't see how this will turn out after the new year with all the games being played on apparently both sides .

So help , I am lost .

3RD ID is on its way. These are heavy Combat units not MP but 11 B's and Calvary

2. We're all lost.
We're all trying to make sense of a nonsensical situation. However...

oday I hear Reid apparently for sending more troops on a short term basis .

Reid is not for sending more troops. What he said is that he might consider supporting a short-term increase in troop levels, but only in the context of a full withdrawal by 2008. I made the point in another thread that this is essentially the position of the ISG, and I suspect he's hedging his bets by not going against the ISG report.

Some say bush is holding off so he can look like the good guy by pulling the troopps out , others say he will never pull out and stay the course or the new , new way forward chatter .

Knowing Bush, he will refuse to change his mind, which means more of the same - maybe with more troops, but I doubt the overall strategy, or lack thereof, will change.

Bush will probably get his surge, and then be called upon to support the ISG reccomendations, or else. ("Or else" meaning defunding of the war.)

Scary, eh?

3.  Yes it is damn scary
Especially when there are so many different views and there seems to be no way of getting to the truth about any of this . I keep hearing wait for the dems to come along in Jan and see what they do , well maybe , maybe not , who can say for certain how this will pan out .

Then there is still this chatter about attacking Iran or Syria by the US or Israel that has me concerned .

One thing I do know is bush is crazy and cheney is mad working in the shaddows so to speak . I honestly don't know what to make of this other than to say bush and cheney are crazy enough to do something like this .

All news finds it's way into a memory hole and this is by design not accident as far as I can tell .

6. I don't understand
Of course we all voted to get out of Iraq. Why do you think that anyone has any influence over the decider? In Jan. we will all know what those newly elected Dems. will do, until then, smokes and drinks for all.
