WoW! I just got a call from Concerned Women of America!
Edited on Sun Dec-17-06 04:00 PM by Gman
The woman asks for me and I ask who's calling, she says "Concerned Women of America". I ask what she wants and she say, "Well (with emphasis and a breathy "Well.."), I'm sure you've heard of the atheist attorney (somebody?) and that he/she is trying to..." I interrupted and said, "What calling list are you calling off of? You've got an awful bad list. I was a Kerry Delegate to the 2004 Democratic Convention in Boston. I don't know why the hell I would be on your call list... are you sure you want to be talking to me?" I was amazed that someone could have such bad contacts on a list they purchased. She said, "Well, that's exactly why we're calling you. Are you in favor of one nation under God? Don't you want to keep God in our country? Don't you believe in one nation under God?" I started laughing and said, "No, I don't!" She said, "What? You don't want to keep God in our country?" I said, "No, I not at all!" She said, "Well, you're obviously out of step with us!" (CLICK!) And I busted out laughing all by myself here!

The Concerned Women of America are sure scraping the bottom of the barrel these days!

1. God was put under house address today by the order of Justice Scalia
"We can't afford to have our diety gallivanting off to other nations. After meeting with Concerned Woman for America, I realized how important it is to keep God in our country." God will be fitted with an ankle bracelet and will be provided with 24 hour guards.

10. I refer to them as Hysterical Women of America
They're definitiely not getting it at home.

They have to stick their blue noses in other people's business.

I believe in a world under God.

America Faces a Popeye Moment
That's when Popeye has had all he can take. At that point Popeye says, "I've had all I can stand! I can't stands no more!" He flexes his biceps and off he goes to straighten things out.

Those of us who work on America's cultural and domestic issues know exactly how Popeye felt. There are moments when we can't stand any more; we've had all we can stand, and we "can't stands no more!"

America stands at a Popeye Moment regarding children living in fatherless families, and we need to do everything we can to "straighten things out."...

14. When was the last time they actually WENT to a Home Depot?
The banner in front of my store's Garden department says "Fresh Cut Christmas Trees."

It said that last year too.

Lowe's was the one selling the "holiday trees."

We do have "holiday decorations," but the only holiday they're for is Christmas. So we've all been calling them "Christmas decorations."

22. They should be focusing on wages and working conditions
If these people were truly concerned about the family, they would be worried about the wages paid by these businesses and not whether or not they use "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas." After all, one of the leading causes of stress for many marriages is financial hardship.

7. I hope I get the opportunity
back when my number was listed, I'd play games with obscene callers and make them hang up on ME.

I'm sure some busybody with a major bug up her ass would be fun.

11. That's the way it always happens, isn't it?
You always think of all these wonderful things you should have said, after the opportunity has passed. :(

13. What a bad list.

I would've bust out laughing at that. Why do we need to work at keeping God in our country? Don't we Christians believe that He is in all places, filling all things? He's either an omnipresent God or He isn't. No one can kick God out of anywhere. Silly person.

If they called me, I would ask "Does your husband know you are using the phone without his permission?"

17. This "concerned woman" would prefer to keep God in my private life...
and out of our government. I don't want God in our government any more than I want the government in my church. I like that little wall of separation dealio.

Someone needs to tell that caller that "concerned women" should be concerned about the rights and liberties of all of our citizens.

18. Is God so powerless that He'll disappear without the efforts of the Concerned Women?
I'd say they were guilty of the sin of pride and tell them to go to confession. ;)
