GREENPEACE boats plan to intercept a ship carrying spent nuclear fuel from Sydney's Botany Bay.

Six shipping containers carrying the spent fuel from the Lucas Heights nuclear reactor, in Sydney's south, will be loaded aboard the Seabird, Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GAP) said.

The vessel is due to arrive in Botany Bay shortly to pick up the containers and depart about 2am (AEDT) for the east coast of the United States.

It is understood the spent fuel will be stored somewhere in the US.

Uranium's slow boat to Taiwan
THE controversial first shipment of Australian uranium to Taiwan is scheduled to leave tomorrow amid debate about potential for the move to help clear the way for future exports to nuclear-armed India.

BHP Billiton yesterday refused to confirm the timing of the shipment to Taiwan via the United States, but the buyer, the electricity generator Taipower, was less constrained.

6. Not to dispute the embarassment value of this
but isn't six shipping containers a drop in the bucket compared to what's already here?

10. If you can get coasttocoastam Listen to Alex Jones
He explains how our nation is now a third world nation - our ports are "secured" by foreign nations, our roads are "built" by foreign nations (although our gasoline-at-the-pump tax dollars will pay for the paving and other construction costs) and though he doesn't mention toxic waste dumping, why not?

Our nation has been sold out from under us, and it seems to be almost too late to stop what has happened.
