CNN does feature on "Blood Diamonds" then runs Commercial Saying Good for Environment

from Namibia. Commercial states that Diamond industry supports Education, Medical Care and the Environment in their Diamond Mining. The commercial ran in CNN's "This Week at War" just after John Roberts had run an investigative piece on Blood Diamonds talking with a reporter in South Africa about the toll this trade takes on the people and how the middle men pay the miners nothing while raking in the profits. :yoiks:

So, CNN alerted Diamond Industry that they would be doing a "hit piece" on them and get's placement for their commercial to refute the very bit of "news" CNN features.

Shouldn't this be illegal? Or, is it just excellent commercial Product Placement and okay? :shrug:

Sounds par for the course...Some of the networks have programs on climate change and there are ads for Hummers during breaks...go figure..
